Many people hate writing essays. They see it as boring, useless and unnerving. If you think so too, you can try following these steps - you may find that it's not that bad, as an activity. And even if you don't change your mind, you may get better grades; therefore, in the end, it will not have been a complete waste of time.

Part 1 of 4: Choosing the Topic
Step 1. Think about a topic
If your teacher has already assigned you a topic, you just have to go to the next step. But if not, you have to choose one. An excellent topic is the one that can attract the reader's attention right from the title. Here are some useful insights: money is not that important; appearance does not matter; fizzy drinks are not just for gaining weight (the latter is a really interesting topic and, yes, it is true that fizzy drinks also have positive sides).
Make sure that the topic centers on the task you have been assigned and that, in the drafting phase, you can count on the support from the Internet or from a book
Part 2 of 4: Writing the Introduction
Step 1. Write the introduction
Many believe that the introduction is the most difficult part to write; in fact, it is one of the simplest. All you have to do is write an opening sentence, followed by a couple of related interesting facts. A couple of sentences are enough to complete the introduction.
Write a short paragraph of "hooking up". Capture the reader's attention by adding facts or information on the subject. This part is found at the beginning of the essay and, if written correctly, entices the reader to learn more
Step 2. Expand the introduction in the next paragraph
For example, if at the beginning you wrote: We should all help animals. Come to think of it, we humans have a tremendous advantage over other creatures, from the largest to the tiniest. If we join forces and take advantage of increasingly advanced technology, we can help animals one at a time, whenever we have the opportunity”, in the next paragraph you should talk about how animals can actually be helped.
Step 3. Write the main statement
This is a couple of sentences that explain what you intend to demonstrate through the essay. Make sure you write well, in detail and specifically. The main statement is the key element of any theme.
Part 3 of 4: Writing the Body of the Essay
Step 1. Add sentences to support your thesis
Usually, two or three subtopics are included in an essay to support the main one. These must be made explicit at the beginning of each central paragraph, as well as in the main statement.
Step 2. Include statements, testimonials, and a comment
The main statement already serves as a statement. Now is the time to argue and add data that can support it. To do this, consult books, surf the net and watch related videos. The commentary is a very important part of the text.
Step 3. Include your point of view at the end of the paragraph
Write your thoughts on the supporting arguments you have included. Express your views and thoughts on the topic.
Part 4 of 4: Concluding the Essay
Step 1. Write the conclusion
The conclusion consists of the central question (which should appear in the last sentence of the essay), an introduction piece and some segments taken from the body paragraphs (those included between the introduction and the conclusion). In other words, it must contain parts of other paragraphs, and the last sentence must clarify the main fact.
Finally, express your thesis differently than the rest of the essay. Sum it all up and try to make a good impression on the reader
Advice
- Avoid repetitions. They make the essay less interesting.
- Remember to use the connectors. They serve to connect ideas and give a sense of continuity to the text. Connectors are a very important element, on a par with the main statement.
- Don't be discouraged if you don't know what to write. Take a break: this way, when you return to writing, you will be more relaxed and focused.

Sometimes, if you put the essay in a binder or backpack, it can get wrinkled and look awful when you have to deliver it. Try to laminate it (ask your trusted stationer), or keep it in a special binder, which you can always find in the stationery shop for a few euros.
N. B. Choose whether to laminate it or put it in a binder. Doing both is an exaggeration
- An essay written on blank sheets of paper can be boring. Try adding clipart, images, computer drawings, a plain background or a frame (you can find paper with pre-printed frames and backgrounds in stationery).
Warnings
- Although the essays are not evaluated on the basis of how they present themselves, it is always better to have an eye also for the outward appearance. The last two tips you read only serve to attract attention and make the essay seem more interesting and professional.
- Don't go overboard with embellishments. You risk making it look cheesy; plus, you would spend money for nothing. Remember that, when the school year is over, your essay will end up in the trash; so it's not a great idea to fill it with figures and decorations.
