At the end of the day, or after a long period of standing, walking or sitting behind the wheel in traffic, your feet can be sore and tired. Most foot pain is caused by a muscle imbalance. Read the article and learn how to relieve your tired feet as soon as it's time to rest.
Steps
Step 1. Lie on your bed in the prone position and turn off the light
If possible, choose an environment where the temperature is comfortable.
Step 2. Place a pillow under the instep to support them
It is important that your feet are elevated in this position to help release tension.
Step 3. Rest for a minimum of 10 minutes
30 minutes would be the ideal time frame.
Step 4. After the necessary time, your feet should feel noticeably better
Step 5. For added relief, if your feet are really tired and sore, prepare a hot water foot bath (choose the degree of heat to your taste)
Add some bath salt and rose petals. Dip your feet in the water and relax for 15-30 minutes. After that, dry them with a warm towel (put it in the dryer or on a radiator to warm it up) and apply a moisturizing, lightly scented cream. Repeat the treatment a couple of times a week to restore freshness, health and rest to your feet.
Advice
- If the temperature in your room is too hot or too cold, try to make it more comfortable by covering up or removing excess clothing. A quick shower before rest can help you cool off or warm up.
- During sitting activities, roll a tennis ball, golf ball, or rolling pin under the soles of your feet. Move the object back and forth. You will increase the flexibility of your muscles and joints and you will be able to enjoy a pleasant massage.
- A foot massage or self-massage is highly beneficial. Perform simple movements imagining that you are pushing away the pain and fatigue.
- If you wish and if you have the time, take a short warm foot bath by adding salt and drops of essential oil. Among the most suitable oils: eucalyptus, lavender, orange and any other ingredient at the same time energizing and relaxing.
- Train your toes by trying to pick up small objects from the floor, such as a pencil. If possible, move both feet at the same time.
