Killing time at work may be necessary on occasion. You are probably waiting for a project or maybe it is the holiday season and clearly it is difficult to focus on something. Although it is not a good idea to make it a habit, killing time at work could be useful for those times when you don't feel very motivated.
Steps
Step 1. You must have a job, to be able to afford to kill time
Otherwise, if you didn't have a job, and you were killing time, it would be just a waste of time.
Step 2. As many companies allow their employees to use computers, it would be good to check if you have an internet connection, otherwise you wouldn't be killing time in the best way
Step 3. If you can connect to the internet, use the time available to pay bills, play free online games, update your social networks, or read some books
Step 4. Bring a novel or any other book, a sketch pad or a portable video game with you
Step 5. Try doing some light exercise
It's good for you, but it's also a great way to pass the time.
- Stretch the muscles of the neck, shoulders, back, hips, hands, fingers, legs, etc.
- Cross your hands behind your head. Rotate your elbows.
- Roll your shoulders. Turn them up a few times.
- Try doing isometric exercises if other types of exercises make you look odd.
- Return to your daily tasks, regenerated.
Step 6. Leave your desk from time to time and join your colleagues
If you have the impression that they are working seriously, try to say casually "How's the work going?" If, on the other hand, they are killing time, join them.
Advice
- If you always need to kill time, find another job where you can get more motivation and be busy. Life is too short to reduce it to "killing time"; it will not be returned to you, so make the most of it.
- Download an application that allows you to hide your PC desktop and other programs. If you use other materials, make sure you have somewhere to put everything away quickly.
