Commercially available shampoos are often chock full of chemical substances which can cause allergic reactions and damage the environment. This is why more and more people decide to join an eco-sustainable lifestyle… starting with personal care.
Aloe vera is a plant with a thousand properties. In addition to moisturize the skin, can be used to prepare shampoo at home. Thus, you will be aware of the ingredients that will come into contact with your hair.
Steps
Step 1. Buy the ingredients, which are only four:
liquid castile soap, aloe vera gel, glycerin and vegetable oil. You can get them at a health food store or on the internet. Aloe vera gel can be obtained directly from the plant with a spoon.
- To extract it from the plant, first cut a leaf, dividing it into two parts lengthwise. The thick, translucent gel is found in the inner section of the leaf and can be removed with a spoon.
- You can also add a few drops of essential oil to the shampoo to perfume it and improve its formulation. Rosemary, for example, is ideal for dry and damaged hair.
Step 2. Mix the ingredients in a bowl
Measure 60 ml of castile soap and aloe vera gel, 5 ml of glycerin and 1 ml of vegetable oil. Turn them over with a wooden or plastic spoon. Avoid metal. Add a few drops of essential oil if you want. You will get a product of about 120ml, but the quantities can be altered according to your needs.
Step 3. Pour the shampoo into a bottle using a funnel
Wipe off any spilled liquid before closing it.
Step 4. Store it in the shower
This shampoo is mild and can be used daily.
Always shake the bottle before washing your hair to get the ingredients to mix
