Camping is a fun and exciting experience, but to be safe and organized, you need to prepare well for the trip.
Steps
Step 1. Decide who to go camping with
If you go alone or with your family, the next step is not important. However, if you are going with a group of scouts or friends, please read the next step carefully.
Step 2. Before starting with the preparations, make sure you have all the necessary information regarding health care (and medical insurance if you are in the US)
If someone gets hurt while traveling, having adequate insurance will make a big difference in the health care you receive. Health information is very important when preparing for travel. For example, if your friend is allergic to peanuts, you won't be able to take peanut butter with you. On the other hand, if someone needs to take medicine constantly, make sure they have the necessary amount. If you wear glasses or contact lenses, remember to bring saline solution and / or a spare pair of glasses.
Step 3. Prepare a first aid kit
If you're not sure what to put in, read the "Things You'll Need" section at the bottom of the page. You should also at least read up on the basics of first aid.
Step 4. Decide how long you will be camping and where you will sleep
You risk buying a tent unnecessarily if your group has already decided to rent a cabin.
Step 5. Bring the right amount of food with you:
you must have enough for three meals and an optional snack a day.
Don't bring a lot of perishable food like cheese, chicken and milk. Basically, avoid dairy and meat as if they go bad and eat them, you could be sick. Assorted nuts are great for snacks, fruit for breakfast, crackers for lunch, and leftovers for dinner. Remember to bring plenty of water.
Step 6. Read the “Things You Will Need” section and make a list of what you will carry in a light, small bag
Put small things in a backpack or trolley and larger ones, such as a sleeping bag, you can carry them in garbage bags. They are convenient to fold and take up very little space.
Step 7. Don't carry too many things
Step 8. Load everything into the car and go
Advice
- It is advisable not to wear jewelry or earrings. They might get stuck somewhere while climbing or you might lose them anyway.
- Remember to have fun!
- Dried beef is great to take as a snack.
- If you have a choice, it is best to sleep in a cabin. They are more comfortable and welcoming, especially when it rains and from time to time they also have air conditioning.
