This guide will show you how to organize yourself for a fun camping trip during the summer holidays.
Steps
Step 1. Find out where you are going, for how long, where you will be staying etc
For example: You are going to the lake for 2 weeks, you will sleep in a bungalow, you will have your own room, the weather is very hot, it is not very far from home and they have many recreation rooms and a teen club open every day.
Step 2. Three months before your trip, make a complete list of your camping supplies
Check for spoiled products, or things you missed last time. Write down everything you still need, that way you have three months to find everything else.
Step 3. Think about what you need to do and what you want to bring.
You could bring different swimwear and summer clothing such as capri pants, shorts, t-shirts and tank tops. On the day of departure, wear heavier or bulky clothes to leave more space in your suitcase.
Step 4. Think about how much baggage it is appropriate to carry
If you are using a small car and traveling with 2 or more people, do not take up the whole trunk or the whole car! Take a maximum of two suitcases and three bags, for example 3 backpacks. Maybe try tucking small items like socks into your shoes.
Step 5. Make a list of things to bring - Check out the "Things You Will Need" section for some suggestions
Make sure you bring enough things, but be careful not to overdo it; it would then become difficult to find what you need.
Step 6. Check the list
Make sure you haven't forgotten anything.
Method 1 of 1: Camping Outdoors
Step 1. Outdoor camping supplies can be divided into 3 parts
Smart luggage, travel gear and weather gear.
Step 2. The most important thing to remember is to prepare the backpacks intelligently
An example would be to insert soft objects in correspondence of the back so that it does not bother you while hiking. You have to be prepared, but you can't have it all. Another idea is to divide items into bags for easier storage.
Step 3. You need to know in advance what time you will find
If you will have to face very low temperatures (winter) you must have these items with you:
- Coat (windbreaker)
- Jumpsuit, hat, balaclava, breathable layer (under the jacket) that can protect you from head to toe, one warm layer (between the breathable layer and the windproof layer), two pairs of socks, breathable layer and warm layer, and (when outdoors) extra padding for boots and gloves. For summer camping you will need to have waterproof shoes, DDT, sunscreen and a poncho.
Step 4. While camping you will find yourself hiking
There are three backpack sizes. The first is a daily backpack, smaller and designed for short hikes. The second is a three day backpack, of medium size. The larger backpack is intended for hikes longer than three days. There are two types of backpacks. The first has an internal skeleton, the second an external one (day backpacks usually have no skeleton).
Step 5. When packing your bags for a camping trip, remember to pack your tents and / or tarps in the car first
That way, the first things you need to unpack should be the last things you put away before you leave for the trip.
Advice
- Organize your luggage a few days in advance. Be smart when packing and make sure you have everything you need.
- Smear your body with sunscreen.
- Clean once a day so that trash and clutter doesn't build up.
- If possible, only share the tent with friends.
- Bring your favorite foods.
- Bring something to sit on rather than sitting directly on the floor (like a cushion or one of those seat covers that can also be placed on the floor).
- Adopt a positive attitude.
- If you need help, if for example someone has broken an arm, find an area of clear ground and make an "X" with sticks. It will attract the attention of any passing helicopter.
- Better to have your own tent so you don't need to share it.
- Make sure you hang your food on a tree so no animals can get there.
Warnings
- Set up the camp to keep unwelcome animals like bears, foxes, squirrels and other wildlife away.
- If you hike or spend long periods of time in the woods, be sure to watch out for ticks, as they tend to stick to the scalp normally.
- Always be prepared for a weather reversal (Plan B).
