Undoing a bra is sometimes quite complicated, there are a lot of straps to pull, unhook, etc. Where do I have to grab it with my fingers? What should I pull? These are endless questions, whether you want to take your girlfriend's bra off, or are you just starting out with yours. Don't worry, you'll be a bra pro by the time you finish reading this article!
Steps
Method 1 of 5: Basic Principles
Step 1. Learn how the locking mechanism works
A normal bra has two horizontal bands that close at the back. One band has several eyelets, the other a series of hooks. To unhook a bra you need to grab both bands and pull the hooks out of the eyelets.
Sometimes you can find a bra that has only one hook and one eyelet or five of both. The most common are 2-3 hook bras, however they all work the same way
Step 2. Some bras close at the front
While they are not that common, keep in mind that they exist: the two cups are connected by a clasp. So if you're trying to take off a bra and don't find the hooks on the back, try checking the front.
Method 2 of 5: Unhook a Girl's Bra
Step 1. Place a hand on the end of each band
One should have eyelets and the other hooks. Move it slightly away from the girl's back to make yourself some space to work.
If she is facing you, you need to take her bra off without looking at what you do. Do not worry! Place your hands on each band so you can feel the eyelets and hooks. Pull the closure away from your back to have some space
Step 2. Pull the flaps together to release the tension of the latch
If you just jerk you won't get any results other than breaking the bra and probably getting a slap from the girl. The trick is to bring the bands closer together.
Step 3. Slide the flap with the hooks in your direction
Keep the other still, so that the hooks come out of the eyelets.
It can happen that one hook opens and the others don't, especially if you are working blindly. Don't panic! Simply repeat the same movements focusing on the rest of the closure
Method 3 of 5: Unhook the Bra with One Hand
Step 1. Put your fingers on the end of one band and your thumb on the other
Make sure that all fingers are very close to the locking mechanism.
You can follow these instructions even when she is facing you (and therefore you don't see what you are doing)
Step 2. Pinch the bands together
You should be able to do this with your thumb, index and middle finger. Imagine grabbing a shirt with only three fingers, and doing the same movement with the bra.
Step 3. Slide the band with the hooks over the clasp
This way you free the hooks from the eyelets. If you are right, it will help to point your fingers to hold the flap with the eyelets in place; if you are left handed, point your thumb.
Method 4 of 5: Unclip your Bra
Step 1. Bring your arms back towards your back, with your hands pointing from the bottom up
Grab both ends with the hooks / eyelets and pull them away a little from the back to create space.
If you can't reach the closure with your hands or just think it's easier to work on the front, take off the straps. At this point, turn the bra around your bust so you can see what you are doing
Step 2. Bring the bands closer to each other
So you release the tension that keeps the hooks in place.
Step 3. Slide the hooks out of the eyelets
Keep the end still with the hooks if you want to succeed in this movement.
Method 5 of 5: Undo a Front Closure Bra
Step 1. Locate the clip
It should be between the two cups. Usually, clasps consist of two pieces of metal or plastic that snap together. When energized, the clip locks and holds the two ends in place.
Step 2. Place one hand on each side of the clip
Lift the bra a little to be able to open the closure. You should see the two parts of the clip come apart.
Step 3. Move one part of the closure up and the other down
Clasps are very different from each other and there are many types. If you feel some resistance when doing this movement, try reversing it, the bra should open easily.
