Pinwheel-shaped sandwiches are fun and cute, as well as being a great quick snack. Depending on the fillings you use, these tasty snacks are very versatile; they are great for afternoon tea and are elegant enough for a cocktail party as well. In addition, they are perfect for the little fingers of children attending parties.
Steps
Step 1. Get the bread and fillings
Step 2. Remove the crust from the bread
Step 3. Flatten each slice with a rolling pin
Pass it only once or twice, you don't have to mash the bread!
Step 4. Spread or arrange the filling on each slice
Be careful that nothing comes out of the edges of the bread (or will pop out on the sides when you roll it).
Step 5. With two hands, roll each slice on itself to create a pinwheel
Step 6. Insert a toothpick if the roll does not stay closed by itself
Step 7. Wrap each roll tightly in cling film or parchment paper and put them in the fridge
If you have decided to freeze them, it is advisable to put them in a specific bag for double protection: by doing so, ice crystals will not form and the odors will not mix.
Step 8. Slice them into 1.25cm discs and secure them with a toothpick before serving on a tray with decorative pieces of fruit or vegetables
Alternatively, if it is a children's party, add colorful sweets, toy animals and other similar objects as part of the decoration, so as to attract the attention of younger guests.
