To encourage recycling, an extra 5 or 10 cents are sometimes paid for each bottle bought, which can then be recovered by returning the bottles to suitable locations. But if you want to bring back extra bottles and cans that you find in public spaces, you can undoubtedly make a good profit.
Steps
Step 1. Make sure you keep all the bottles you use which can then be reused
Step 2. Go to a public park
Look on the ground and in the garbage cans.
Step 3. Check for the recycling symbol on all cans
In America, for example, if you live in California, you will find a label that says something like "CA CRV; HI, ME 5", which means you can bring the can back for money. CA stands for California, HI for Hawaii and ME for Maine. Some supermarkets in the states just mentioned will pay you for the bottles you bring them. In the Netherlands, in Albert Heijn supermarkets, all PET bottles (water and soft drinks) can be exchanged for money. There is also storage for beer bottles, so you get some money when you bring them back. I'm not sure, but I think Norway also has a similar system to the Netherlands. Another European country that uses it is Germany.
In all other states you can find places for recycling where you can sell aluminum cans or others where you can also carry paper, other types of metal and glass by weight. Make sure you find suitable places where you can bring the various items
Step 4. Make sure you weigh your car (whether you are in or out) in vehicle scales
You can lose a lot of weight if you are out of the car when they first weigh it, but in when they weigh it after unloading. It will lose weight - it can be deceptive. You can also make money by recycling cans.
Advice
- Some places, including the state of Hawaii, require residents to remove the caps from plastic bottles and throw them away before returning the bottles.
- You can choose whether to weigh or count. The best way to earn money from recycling depends on an individual decision, depending on what you have (glass or plastic) and its quantity.
- Get a garbage collector, which you can order or buy from a trusted retailer. This will make garbage collection more hygienic and make you look more professional.
Warnings
- Some people use their own cans as ashtrays and baskets, so be sure to check and throw out any garbage before crushing them.
- Watch out for spiders, ants, bedbugs, snails, wasps and bees in the bottles / cans of sweet food.
- When looking in the garbage cans, beware of flies and odors that may escape.
- When you collect garbage to earn some money, some people (especially kids) may call you a bum or a tramp. If this happens, resist the temptation to beat them and go pick up the garbage somewhere else.
- Wash your hands when you're done.
