Do you feel disheartened about a task as you can't remember the difference between food chain and web? This article teaches you how to draw a food web.
Steps
Step 1. Make a list of the organizations you need to include in the network
For convenience, suppose you consider grass, grasshopper, cow, bird, fox, and human.
Step 2. Take a sheet of paper and write the name of the "manufacturer" on the bottom
Next, write down the names of the animals that eat them and finally the carnivores.
Step 3. Draw arrows indicating the transfer of energy from one organism to another
In other words, the arrows must indicate which organism is being eaten by another. In the example considered you have to draw an arrow from the grass towards the grasshopper and another towards the cow; another arrow should start from the grasshopper pointing towards the bird and so on.
If you are organizing a large food web, you can use color codes to draw the arrows. For example, those that connect the plants and the animals that feed on them may be green, while the arrows relating to the animals preyed upon by carnivores may be red
Step 4. Add a title
For example, you can choose "Farm Food Network" or something similar. You could also make an aquatic, arctic, or forest food web.
