This article explains how to watch ESPN, the American cable television channel that broadcasts sports, over the internet.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Using ESPN.com
Step 1. Go to the ESPN website
Follow the link or type "www.espn.com" in the search bar of your browser.
Step 2. Click on Watch
You will see this button on the right side of the top menu bar.
Step 3. Click on WatchESPN
You will see many programs appear on the page.
Step 4. Scroll down and click on the program you want to watch
- You can immediately watch programs that do not have the key symbol, without entering additional information or login credentials.
- To view programs with the key icon, you must log in with your cable or satellite TV account credentials.
Method 2 of 3: Using the ESPN Official App
Step 1. Download the official ESPN app
The steps to do this are similar on iPhone, iPad or Android devices:
- iPhone / iPad: Open ESPN in the App Store, press Get, then Install.
- Android: Open ESPN in the Google Play Store, then press Install.
Step 2. Open the ESPN app
Follow the on-screen prompts to set your preferences.
Step 3. Press the "Watch" button
This is the icon that looks like a red screen with a white triangle in the lower right corner of the screen.
Step 4. Click on a program
Scroll down if necessary.
Step 5. Select your cable or satellite TV station
Step 6. Enter your credentials
Follow the on-screen prompts to do this.
Step 7. Press ▶ ️
You will see this button in the center of the screen. Press it and the streaming will start.
Method 3 of 3: Using SlingTV
Step 1. Go to the SlingTV website
Click on the link or write "www.slingtv.com" in the search bar of your browser.
SlingTV is an online provider of streaming TV channels. It's a paid service, but the cheapest subscription ($ 20 / mo as of May 2017) includes ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPN 3, and a dozen other channels. You don't need a cable or satellite TV subscription to use SlingTV
Step 2. Click Watch 7 Days Free
You will see this blue button in the center of the screen.
Step 3. Click on 30 Channels or 50 Channels.
ESPN channels are included in both of these offers.
Step 4. Scroll down and click Continue to purchase a SlingTV subscription
Follow the onscreen instructions to do this.
Step 5. Select a device to watch ESPN or SlingTV on
Watch over the internet from your computer, or use the SlingTV app on iPhone, iPad, AppleTV, Android, AndroidTV, ChromeCast, Roku or Amazon devices.
Step 6. Download the SlingTV app on your device
Step 7. Open the SlingTV app
Step 8. Log in with your credentials
Step 9. Click on ESPN
Step 10. Select a program
You will be able to watch ESPN channels over the internet without a satellite or cable TV subscription.
