This article explains how to download an app to your smart TV using the TV's app store. To use this useful feature, read on.
Steps
Method 1 of 5: Samsung Smart TV
Step 1. Turn on the TV
Remember that it must be connected to the internet to download applications.
Step 2. Press the Home button on the remote control
Often, there is a house icon on this button.
Step 3. Select Apps and press the "Select" button
To do this, use the arrows on the remote control to bring the cursor to Apps, then press the multicolor "Select" button.
Step 4. Choose an app category
At the top of the screen, you will see tabs like Announcements And More popular, Besides Search for top right.
You can use the card Search for to find the apps you know the name of.
Step 5. Select the app you want to download
The application information page will open.
Step 6. Select Install and press the "Select" button
You will find this button under the app name. Once pressed, the download will begin.
- If the app is not free, you will find the price instead of the install button.
- When the download is complete, you can press You open to launch the app directly from this page.
Method 2 of 5: LG Smart TVs
Step 1. Turn on the TV
Remember that it must be connected to the internet to download applications.
Step 2. Press the Smart button on the remote control
The operating system home page will open.
Step 3. Select your profile icon
It looks like a person and is located in the upper right corner of the screen.
Step 4. Enter your LG account information and select Sign in
You will need to type in your email and password.
Step 5. Swipe up with the remote
You will see the home page scroll to the right and you will be able to view the various categories of applications.
Step 6. Select an app category
On the home page, you will find several tabs with the names of the categories (for example Games) in the upper left corner; select one and you will be able to view all related apps.
Step 7. Choose an app to download
That application's information page will open.
Step 8. Select Install
You will see this button just below the app name.
You will see the price instead of the button Install if the app is not free.
Step 9. When asked, press Ok
Once the app is installed, if you want to start it, press You open where the button used to be Install.
Method 3 of 5: Sony Android Smart TV
Step 1. Turn on the TV
Remember that it must be connected to the internet to download applications.
Step 2. Press the HOME button on the remote control
The home page of the TV will open.
Step 3. Scroll down to the "Apps" section
You can do this by swiping on the touch surface of the remote.
Step 4. Select Shop and press the touch surface of the remote
The voice Shop it is represented by the multicolored icon of the Google Play Store and is located in the far left part of the "Apps" section.
Step 5. Search for apps
You can swipe right to browse the "Entertainment" tab or you can swipe down to select a more specific category, such as Remote control games.
You can also swipe up to select the magnifying glass icon, then type in a keyword
Step 6. Select the app you want to download and press the touch on the remote control
The program page will open.
Step 7. Select Install with remote control
You will see this entry under the app name.
If the app is not free, you will find the price instead of the install button
Step 8. Select Accept on the right side of the screen
Press that button and the installation of the application on the TV will start; when finished, you can start it by pressing You open.
Method 4 of 5: Apple TV
Step 1. Turn on the TV
If Apple TV is the default video source, it should turn on right away.
- If you haven't already, you need to set the video source on your Apple TV.
- If the TV is not connected to the internet, you will not be able to add other applications.
- You can't add apps to an Apple TV if it's a 3rd generation or older model.
Step 2. Select the App Store and press the touch surface of the remote control
The App Store icon is dark blue, with a white "A" made with writing instruments. Press it and Apple's online store will open.
If you are using your iPhone's Apple TV application, you need to open it before starting
Step 3. Scroll through the Store apps
By default, the App Store opens to the "Recommended" page, where you can find the most popular apps.
- You can also swipe up Search for, press the remote and type an app name if you want to search for it manually.
- By selecting the tab Categories you can view the various types of apps.
Step 4. Select the app you want to download and press the touch surface of the remote control
The application information page will open.
If you have opened the tab Categories, you must first select one.
Step 5. Select Install and press the remote
You should see this button in the center of the app page. Press it and the download of the program on the Apple TV will start.
- For paid apps, you will see the price instead of the install button.
- You may need to enter your Apple ID password if the app is paid.
Method 5 of 5: Amazon Fire TV
Step 1. Turn on the TV
If the Fire Stick is the default video source (or the last one you used), the Amazon Fire TV home page will open.
- If you haven't already, you need to select the video source connected to the Fire Stick.
- If the TV is not connected to the internet, you will not be able to download new apps.
Step 2. Open the sidebar
To do this, simply use the left side of the circular selection button on the remote, so that you swipe left until the bar appears on the side of the screen.
Step 3. Select Apps and press "Select"
This is the round button in the center of the selection circle. The voice Apps it is located about the middle of the sidebar.
Step 4. Select a filter
For example, you can scroll down to select the tab Spotlight and view the recommended apps or tab Best free to browse the free apps that have received the highest ratings.
If you prefer to browse all apps, select the item Categories, then find a category that interests you.
Step 5. Select an app and press the "Select" button on the remote
The application information page will open.
Step 6. Select Get, then press the "Select" button on your remote
You should see the entry Get further down and to the right of the app icon. Press it and you will start downloading the application on the Amazon Fire TV.
- If the app isn't free, you'll see the price instead of Get.
- On older versions of the Amazon Fire TV, Get can be replaced by Download or Install.
