Setting a password on your iPad is the first step in protecting your data, such as email accounts and contacts. This article will show you how to set a password for your iPad.
Steps
Step 1. Open the Settings app, press "General" and press "Code Lock"
Look for the "Simple Code" option and choose if you want to enable it (a Simple Code is a 4-digit number. From iOS 4 onwards the alphanumeric code has been added.

- Don't choose a simple password like 0000 or 1234. They are too easy to guess.
Warnings
- Don't forget the code. If you forget it, you will need to restore your iPad to iTunes.
- Avoid enabling the "Clear All Data" option after 10 incorrect code entries unless absolutely necessary. If you forget your password, the only way to recover your data would be to restore your device with iTunes.
