This article shows you how to keep a copy of your snaps and be able to view those sent to other people. Remember that in order to save a snap, you must do it before sending it to the chosen recipient. Read on to find out how.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Using the Memories Feature
Step 1. Launch the Snapchat app
It is characterized by a yellow icon on which a small white ghost is imprinted, which is also the logo of the social network.
If you are not already logged into your account, press the button "Login", then type the email address or username linked to your Snapchat profile and the corresponding login password.
Step 2. Touch or hold the circular button (the larger of the two) located at the bottom of the main screen (the one where the view taken by the device's camera is visible)
In this way, in the first case you will take a snapshot, while in the second you will start recording a short video.
- Do not touch the small circular button below the larger one, as it is used to access the screen "Memories".
- Press the button in the upper right corner of the current screen to switch between using the front camera of the device and the main one.
Step 3. Edit the snap you just created
This can be done by using numerous tools, such as stickers, emoji, bitmoji, text or drawings marked with their icons. This step must be performed before sending the snap to the selected recipients.
- "Pencil": allows you to draw freehand on the snap. You can also change the stroke color using the color slider, which appears in the upper right of the screen.
- "T": allows you to add a short text message to the snap. By touching the icon again "T" while the text is selected you have the possibility to change its size and color using the slider that appeared in the upper right part of the screen.
- "Stickers": it is the post-it icon on the left of the button "T" and allows you to insert emojis, bitmojis and other graphic elements within the snap.
- "Scissors": allows you to select and cut out a portion of the snap to make it a custom sticker.
Step 4. Press the "Save" button
It is located at the bottom left of the screen, right next to the "Timer" button. This way, you can save a copy of the snap in the device memory or in the "Memories" section.
- Within the "Memories" section, you can keep a copy of all images and videos created with Snapchat.
- The "Memories" section is nothing more than a multimedia gallery integrated within the Snapchat application.
Step 5. Tap the "Send To" button
It features a white arrow on a light blue background, pointing to the right, and is located in the lower right corner of the screen.
Step 6. Select the names of the people you want to send the newly created snap to
This way each of them will receive a copy of the message as soon as you send it.
If you wish, you can also choose the option "My story" located at the top of the "Send To …" screen. In this way, all your friends will be able to view the snap in question, without limits, for the 24 hours following its publication.
Step 7. Press the "Submit" button
In this way, the snap will be sent to all selected people (and possibly also published in the "My story" section).
Step 8. Swipe your finger on the screen to the left to return to the main application screen (the one showing the view taken by the device's camera)
Step 9. Press the small circular button below the larger one
This will give you access to the "Memories" screen. At this point you have several options:
- Select recently saved snaps to view them in full screen.
- Swipe left or right across the screen while viewing a saved snap in full screen. This way you can view all the snaps saved in the "Memories" album.
- Swipe down on the screen while a full screen snap is displayed. This will redirect you to the "Memories" screen.
- If you wish, you can also decide to save the snaps both in the "Memories" album and in the "Camera Roll" section, which represents the media gallery of the device.
