This article explains how to change your profile picture on Instagram using a mobile or tablet with an Android operating system.
Steps
Step 1. Open Instagram on your device
The icon depicts a camera on a colored background and is located in the application menu.
If you are not logged in yet, follow the onscreen instructions to log in
Step 2. Click on the profile icon
It will match a human silhouette or your profile photo (if you have already uploaded one); is located in the lower right corner of the screen. Once you tap it, this icon will be circled in black.
Step 3. Click on Edit profile
This button is located under the number of your posts, followers and people you follow.
Step 4. Click on Change profile picture
This option is located right below your current profile photo.
Step 5. Select New Profile Picture
This will open the photo gallery of your device.
To take a new photo, instead of selecting one from the gallery, press Photo in the lower right corner of the screen, then proceed to shoot.
Step 6. Click on a photo to select it
Step 7. Click on Next
This option is located in the upper right corner of the screen.
Step 8. Edit the photo
This step is optional, but you can use the classic editing options available on Instagram to customize your image.
- Select one of the filters at the bottom of the screen. To see more, swipe left so you can see the various options.
- To further customize the photo, click on Edit, in the lower right corner of the screen, then select the effects you prefer.
Step 9. Click Next
This button is located in the upper right corner of the screen. Your profile picture will then be published.
