Steps
Method 1 of 2: Using a Phone or Tablet
Step 1. Open Facebook on your phone or tablet
The icon looks like a white "f" on a blue background. It is usually found on the Home screen (or in the application menu, in case you have an Android OS device).
Step 2. Click on What are you thinking about?
It is a text field located at the top of the screen.
If you want to insert a musical note in a comment, rather than in a new publication, search for the post you want to reply to
Step 3. Press on the typing area
This will open the keyboard.
Step 4. Press the emoji key on your keyboard
The location of this button varies depending on the type of device, but it usually has a smiley face and is located in the last row of keys.
Step 5. Scroll through the emojis until you find the musical note
It is usually found in the symbol section, which is represented by a light bulb (iOS) or a bell (Android).
Step 6. Select the note or musical notes you want to use
You can choose single or double musical note. This way the symbol will be inserted into your post or comment.
Method 2 of 2: Using a Computer
Step 1. Visit https://www.facebook.com using a browser
If you are not already logged in, log in to your account now.
Step 2. Click What are you thinking about?
It is a text field located at the top of the "News Section".
If you need to reply to another post or comment, search for it, then click write a comment.
Step 3. Click on the emoji icon
It features a smiley face located in the lower right corner of the typing area.
Step 4. Click on the icon that looks like a light bulb
It's at the bottom of the emoji list (it's the third icon from the right).
Step 5. Click on the musical note you want to insert
There are two different options: a single note or three smaller notes. The note will then appear in the typing area.
