Have you ever wanted to scream like Linkin Park, System of a Down or Slipknot? Sure, you might do it once the wrong way, but then you won't be able to do it again. If you want to continue screaming in the future, you need to do it in a healthy way - the right way. This is not one of those "no effort, no results" situations. You have to protect your voice while you scream at the top of your lungs. And yes, you will do it well too!
Steps
Step 1. Okay, let's explain well
There are four parts of your body that you need to know. The mouth, throat / pharynx, chest and diaphragm. As you scream, each of these parts does a different job.
Step 2. Let's start from the top
The mouth releases the sound and turns the scream into words. It should be as open as possible. DO NOT distort the sound with your mouth - you will damage your throat.
Step 3. And now the throat
The throat has one and only purpose: to create the hue. It must be as open as possible. It ONLY serves to create the tone of your scream. DO NOT create distortions through the throat. This is the biggest mistake all screamers make. You would ruin your voice in a matter of days.
Step 4. Open the muscles in the upper chest, open your mouth fully and breathe
This is the feeling you need to feel in your mouth while you are screaming. If you feel any air that is trapped, stop immediately.
Step 5. The chest is where the sprain comes from
This is where the strongest part of the trachea is and where you should compress the sound.
Step 6. When you speak normally, air comes out of your chest
To scream, the air should come from the diaphragm. The diaphragm is a muscular structure located below the lungs. It is the organ that makes you breathe, and that is where the power of your scream originates.
Step 7. Then, thanks to the force of the diaphragm, the sound is compressed and distorted in the chest, which releases it through the open throat and exits the mouth, which should be fully open
Step 8. If you do this correctly you shouldn't feel any pain in any of these parts
Advice
- Also, don't forget to stand up: it will make you more comfortable and increase the noise!
- To compress the sound in the chest, place your hands on it and push inward. Do the same with the muscles.
- If your scream embarrasses you or there are people in the house who don't exactly like your screams, wait until they've all come out, or scream into a pillow.
- The great thing about screaming / singing is that you can practice anywhere, anytime. Just do something completely different (do the laundry, for example) and start screaming the name of the garment you are holding ("T-SHIRT! JEANS! SOCKS!).
- Find your way to practice.
- Drink plenty of water (not cold, however: the ideal is that it is at room temperature).
- Drinks that help clear your throat are helpful, which increases resonance - and killer screams too!
- It is also said that holding the tongue between the top and bottom of the mouth is helpful for the sound of your scream.
- Try to do some jumps with legs apart and, with each jump, grunt a letter of the alphabet, like, for example: A! - jump - B! - jump - C! - jump. You have to grunt the letter in a very masculine voice, and if you feel pain, it means you are doing it wrong.
Warnings
-
