Step 1. Open Voice Assistant

You can do this from the Ease of Access section in the Control Panel. For Vista and 7, click Start and type narrator in the search bar, then press Enter. The voice assistant will launch and start talking and announcing your activities.

Select the options you need, for example, "Repeat user key presses" which is used to narrate the letters you type.

Step 3. Change the narrator's voice

Depending on your operating system, click Voice Settings at the bottom of the window.

Open Notepad as usual, or click Start and type notepad, then press Enter.

Step 2. Place the cursor where it should start reading

Otherwise, it will start reading from the beginning of the document.

This will begin the narration.
