Curses are spells that are cast on someone with the aim of harming them in some way. The extent of the effect can range from simple psychological annoyance and stress, to physical suffering and illness, and even death. Curses are often associated with black magic, and therefore should not be taken lightly. The Cursed Jar (a variant of the bottle spell) is a simple curse that appears to have a very high success rate.
Steps
Part 1 of 5: Preparing for the Curse
Step 1. Be aware of the possible consequences
If your curse is successful it could significantly affect your victim's life, possibly even leading to death. Keep in mind, however, that many do not believe in magic or the effectiveness of curses and that there is little scientific evidence to confirm that they work.
Studies have shown that people who believe they have been cursed and feel helpless about it could be affected by diastolic flaccidity, which causes blood pressure to drop rapidly and can lead to death
Step 2. Be aware that it could backfire on you
It is a popular belief among witches that curses are immoral and, therefore, will come back to the caster in the same form in which they were conceived. If you curse someone, be prepared for a lot of bad luck as well.
- Even a common Wiccan belief is founded on the principle of "reap what you sow": it is said that whatever you do, be it positive or negative, will come back to you tripled.
- There is not much news on the psychological impact that the success of a curse can have, with consequent suffering of the victim, on the person who threw it. If you put a curse on someone, you may be suffering from psychological stresses that you can't even imagine at the moment.
Step 3. Consider forgiving and moving on
Think about the reason for your desire for revenge and try to understand if you really deserve the expenditure of so much time and energy: it would probably be more useful to use these resources to move on with your life than to fossilize on negative emotions that would only make you feel worse.
- When you pause your life to take revenge, instead of moving on, you are wasting precious time where you could improve your condition. The person who hurt you may really deserve something bad to happen to them, but they certainly don't deserve to steal any more time from you.
- Studies have shown that getting revenge can actually make us feel worse. Experts believe this happens because the pursuit of revenge makes things seem more serious than they originally were, while failure to take revenge makes the triggers seem more mundane over time.
Step 4. Be clear in your intentions
If you decide to proceed with the curse, sit back and think carefully about what you want to happen. Having a clear perception of how you want things to go every step of the way will make your curse more effective.
Step 5. Protect yourself
Before you put a curse on someone, make sure you've secured yourself with a protective spell and / or amulet. If the person you are cursing is also practicing magic, it is possible that the curse will bounce back on you.
Part 2 of 5: Prepare the Required
Step 1. Get a glass jar
Any large enough jar, such as typical pickle jars, should work.
Step 2. Get a fetish
A fetish is generally a doll that resembles the victim of the curse. In fact, however, it can be anything that symbolizes your victim, such as a photograph of him, a lock of his hair, or even just a piece of paper bearing his name.
- If you pick up your victim's hair or clipped nails, make sure you do it unnoticed (take them straight from the trash if possible), otherwise you risk getting in trouble not only with the victim, but with the authorities as well.
- If you are using a photograph of the victim, write their name legible in red or white ink. Use the same type of ink even if you want to write your victim's name on a piece of paper.
- If you choose to write the victim's name and put it in the jar, use an identifying name instead of the full name. For example, if your victim's name is Filippo Rossi but is commonly referred to as "Pippo Rossi", use the short form. You can also use the name your victim uses to identify themselves online, if you know it.
Step 3. Collect items to use as a medium
The word "medium" has many definitions, but in this case it means the substance through which you will transmit your negative energy (for example, the curse). The following tools are generally considered to be excellent mediums:
- Rusty nails, thumbtacks, or other sharp objects can be added to the jar to inflict general pain on your victim.
- Dried red chillies or whole pods of chillies will anger your victim.
- Vinegar can be used to make someone's life bitter or to sour the relationship between two people.
- Rose thorns can be used to make your victim suffer through deception (as a beautiful rose deceives you with its apparent delicacy before pricking your finger) or to ruin a love affair.
- You can add a match to a jar that contains paper to cause it to ignite when you move the jar while casting the curse.
- You can add poisonous plants to the jar to harm your victim. However, be sure to wear protective equipment (gloves, goggles, face mask) when handling poisonous material.
- Urine (your own) can also be added to the jar to help you gain dominance over your victim. Avoid using blood and urine that is not your own, as they would be biohazardous and could make you sick.
- Some land taken from a cemetery can be used to push someone away or to separate two people. The land of a freshly dug grave is the most powerful, but taking it could be considered a crime of disfigurement by the authorities.
- If you decide to take the land of a fresh grave, ask permission from the soul of the deceased and leave an offering, such as alcohol (wine poured on the ground), food (part of your last meal) or money (even just one euro).
- Remember that you don't need to put all of these items in your jar. One or two will do!
Part 3 of 5: Prepare the Cursed Jar
Step 1. Thoroughly clean the jar
Wash it in warm soapy water, making sure to remove the labels and any adhesive residue. To avoid the marks a cloth would leave on the glass, allow it to air dry.
Step 2. Keep your intentions in mind
As you add elements to your cursed jar, focus on your victim and what you want to happen to her.
Step 3. Put the fetish in the jar
If you are using a doll and you also have the victim's hair, you might want to tie the hair around the doll's neck.
Step 4. Add the medium to the jar, on top of the fetish
Remember to focus on your intentions while doing this. If you have no specific desire, just think about how angry you are and what your victim has done to you to deserve your wrath.
Step 5. Close the jar tightly
Before closing it, make sure you don't have to enter anything anymore. Once closed you should no longer reopen it as, at best, it would lose its power.
Step 6. Seal the lid with wax (optional)
If you have a black or red candle, you could light it and let the wax run over the edge of the lid to seal it tightly.
To make it even more powerful, you can use a pin or other pointed object to engrave the victim's name on the candle before melting it
Step 7. Shake the jar
As you shake it, continue to mentally direct your anger to the victim. Remember, you are infusing the jar of power and negative energy.
If the jar contains nails or thumbtacks, shake it gently to avoid breaking it
Step 8. Hide it in a dark place
You can hide it in your home, but it would be even more effective to hide it somewhere close to your victim. If you can, make sure you hide it very well so it won't be found.
- For example, you could bury the jar in your victim's garden. If you decide to do this, make sure you are not seen and bury it deep enough that it cannot be found.
- Hide it well, but make sure you are able to find it in case you need it. You cannot know if at some point you will change your mind and want to lift the curse.
- Another reason for hiding the jar well is that if someone were to find it and break it, all the bad intentions placed inside could come back to you.
Step 9. Be patient
Your curse could take effect after days or even months. If a long time has passed and you believe it has not worked, it is possible that your victim was being defended by a protective spell or amulet.
- If your victim is protected by magic, consider whether you should continue to curse her, as overcoming her defenses can take a lot of time and energy.
- It is also possible that your curse affects someone who is close to the victim, rather than the victim himself. Before you convince yourself that the curse didn't work, consider this possibility as well.
Part 4 of 5: Using Psychology to Reinforce the Curse
Step 1. Forget the cursed jar (optional)
If you lack the time, resources, or interest to create the cursed jar, you can use psychology to make your victim believe they are cursed.
- Frightening the victim with mean words or looks or sabotaging their daily life could achieve the desired result.
- It is fair to repeat, however, that your energy would be better spent on improving your life than trying to make someone else's life difficult. Remember the saying: "living well is the best revenge".
Step 2. Scare your victim
The more the victim believes they are cursed, the more effective your curse will be. In addition to using the jar, try playing with your victim's mind by letting them see you look at her with wickedness or saying creepy words to her.
If you don't think you can say anything really scary, stick to the evil gaze. It is important for the victim to realize that it is addressed to her and that she is afraid of it
Step 3. Be discreet
If the victim is someone who could physically assault you, avoid talking to or looking at them, as doing so could put you in danger.
Step 4. Use the "placebo" effect
Studies have shown that taking placebos helps people feel better. You can also use this principle to achieve negative effects.
The most popular phrases to say to the victim are about general body functions, such as sleep ("You will never sleep peacefully again") or touch ("You will destroy everything you touch")
Step 5. Stay generic
When you verbally curse someone by looking them in the face, be generic. In this way, the victim will be more likely to see the effects of the curse come about when something happens to them that is even remotely close to what you wished them.
- For example, if you say the phrase "You will destroy everything you touch" and a few days later the victim will drop a glass or simply stumble while tying a shoe, the words of your curse may come to mind.
- From this point on, as the victim's anxiety grows, the curse will grow stronger. It will be the victim himself who will carry out the curse for you, while your only task will have been to insinuate doubt in his mind.
Step 6. Check your victim often
Studies have shown that people tend to work worse when supervised often than they would if left alone. It will take time and dedication to carry out this intent, as you will have to pester the victim all the time.
- You don't even need to be cruel to your victim. Just give her advice and continually ask her what she is doing - it will be enough to de-focus her and make her perform worse at whatever she is doing.
- You don't need to do everything yourself. Facebook messages or e-mails sent on a regular basis are also fine. Use whatever channels you have to offer your victim ongoing encouragement and advice - he'll be wrong in the blink of an eye.
Part 5 of 5: Break the Curse
Step 1. Protect yourself
If you break the curse without securing yourself, it may come back to you. Before breaking the jar (and consequently the curse), make sure you are defended by a protective spell, an amulet, or at least a magic formula.
Step 2. Remove the jar from its hiding place
If you have it hidden somewhere outside your property, make sure no one sees you retrieving it - especially the victim of the curse.
Step 3. Destroy the jar
The easiest way to do this safely is to wrap it tightly in a grocery bag, then hit it with a hammer.
If the jar contains liquids, close it first in a paper bag and then in a plastic bag before breaking it
Step 4. Throw it away
Once the jar is broken, seal the grocery bag tightly in another heavy plastic bag, then throw it in the trash. Be sure to clean any liquid or piece of glass that has leaked as a result of breaking.
Advice
- Curses are said to be most effective if thrown and broken when the moon is waning.
- Never curse someone for an insignificant reason. Always carefully consider the consequences and try to understand if your victim deserves to be cursed or not. In most cases, he doesn't really deserve it.
- Instead of cursing someone, consider putting your time and energy into a spell that does you good rather than someone else harm. For example, try casting a spell of happiness or success.
- Please note that there is very little scientific evidence to prove the effectiveness of curses or any other type of magic. You can still use magic as a ritual to ward off negative energies, but it would certainly be a healthier choice to move on with your life or - if you are in a dangerous condition - ask for help from a professional (school counselors, police, social services) that can help you get out of it.
- Inhibitory spells tend to backfire much less often than curses, as the energy they send back is essentially protective.
Warnings
- Curses can backfire on you. If it feels like it hasn't taken effect but you feel worse than usual, break the curse as described above.
- Check the legality of your every action before taking it. Some of them could result in crimes of desecration, trespassing or stalking. If so, stop first.
- If you are in a dangerous situation, call the authorities. There is no evidence that curses work, so don't rely on them to push a dangerous person out of your life.
- If the person you are cursing is also using magic, it is possible that they will find out what you have done and try to curse you as well. Secure yourself in time, with a protective spell or amulet.
