Decorating the house for Christmas is fun, but sometimes it costs a lot. This article will show you how to make all kinds of ornaments and decorations yourself.

Method 1 of 2: Tree Decorations
Step 1. Frozen pine cones
These cute buns are surprisingly easy to make at home using a few normal pine cones. Choose them regular and nice and place them on a newspaper. Then, take some spray paint (ice white for example) and spray one side of it. Let it dry for a few minutes then turn to the other side. Finish by gluing small white satin ribbons to the base for hanging.
For a whiter look you can spray the pinecones several times or from an angle that makes them appear snow-covered
Step 2. Vintage decoration with metal pieces
You can make something antique to give your tree a Victorian touch by hot gluing circles of ribbon to old cookie cutters that you can find at antique or old-fashioned stores. Make several with multiple shapes and hang them on the branches. For more variety, tie some ribbon circles to mat and hang those too.
Even the passe-partout can be painted white or finished with Christmas-themed clips that will hold them in place if you wish
Step 3. Hang fabric-covered frame decorations
Inexpensive nickel frames are a great choice as they look shiny. Buy some the size of a passport photo and find some festive-themed fabric scraps. Open the back of each frame and arrange the fabric on the back. Secure it with a dot or glue then glue a ribbon in one corner and hang them diagonally.

Step 4. Fill in transparent globes
Clear glass globes are inexpensive and while cute while simple, they become ideal for customization. Place objects like peacock feathers or petrified glass in it then glue the closure.
- Adding just one object is the beginning. You can put a small snowman, a miniature Christmas tree or something else in it; or paint the walls with glitter to make them sparkle. Be creative!
- For a truly dramatic effect, use gummed tape and a round or oval piece of paper. Attach it to one side of the decoration using duct tape to hold it in place along the "equator". Hang it on a hook and apply a couple of coats of spray paint and snow. Once it is dry remove the ribbon and the oval and you will have a window effect with a thin transparent strip while the rest is all covered in snow.
Step 5. Make some decorations in the shape of a drum
Party drums are a Christmas classic. Make your own by buying small round boxes of wood or cardboard and decorating them with a strip of ribbon around the outer edge of the lid. Hang them by gluing a piece of tape that fits under the lid.

Step 6. Transform the shells
Seashells are a great ornament in their own right, with a little glue and some silver or gold string to hang them they become amazing. Try painting both sides with a coat of glue then with glitter to make them iridescent. Work in sectors if you want different colored areas or a tone-on-tone effect or paint a thin strip of glue to create an effect to breathe them.
If you have a sea urchin, try gluing some lamé tails under it to make it look like a "jellyfish". Hang it so that the tentacles hang down
Method 2 of 2: Other Decorations
Step 1. Frame a decoration
It's a quick and easy way that only requires a few common items. Tie a nice ribbon and make a ring. Take an empty wooden frame (possibly painted in the colors of the decoration) and make sure the ring is long enough so that when you hold it by the back of the frame, it hangs in the center. Once you are satisfied, mark the center and hot glue or pin the ribbon. Hang the frame on the wall to highlight the decoration in the center.
Step 2. Snow decorations for the fireplace
They are unique and pointed and are reminiscent of snowflakes but also dandelion puffs. Start with styrofoam balls and lots of toothpicks. Insert into the spheres as close as possible. Once you have them completely covered, adjust them so that they are well uniform and spray everything with white spray. They will look great when placed on top of other items or scattered in groups of three or four on shelves.

Step 3. Decorate the table with Christmas napkin rings
Sew thin ribbons on top of one or two small decorations, then tie the ribbon with an open knot so that it serves as a napkin ring itself. Use two different colors such as blue and silver for a classy look.
As with classic rings, it works best with cloth napkins, but if you avoid decorations you can make the normal table more festive by tying the cutlery together with, for example, satin bows
Step 4. Place candles for an instant centerpiece
Coated candles are a quick, easy, and impactful choice. Start with a candle in its glass container or use one in a bottle of wine or something else. Wrap the base or center of the glass with something festive. Winter scraps of scraps, a thick velvet ribbon with a bow, sprigs of cedar glued together are just some warm and elegant solutions.
Consider using jam pots such as diamond-shaped glass ones to house your candles. You can also turn the lid and place the jar inside for a more elaborate presentation
Step 5. Decorate a simple garland
There are an infinite number of things you can do with a garland shape for Christmas: glue fruit and nuts, wrap it with fabric, cover it with spherical decorations but there is no faster and more fun way to create a personalized garland than let yourself go to the imagination. Try adding cards with the names of family and friends, or sticking flowers (even plastic) by completing with fruit and leaves.
