Having a large number of small flies overrun your kitchen can be irritating and disgusting. This tutorial shows you some useful tips to rid your kitchen of flies.
Steps
Step 1. Get a container (of any size) and fill it with the ingredients found in the 'Things You Will Need' section
Step 2. Seal the container using kitchen wrap
Create three medium-sized circular openings in the film. They will allow curious flies to enter but will prevent them from exiting.
Step 3. Take a paper or plastic plate and sprinkle the surface with 3 tablespoons of honey
Flies will be irresistibly attracted. Given the viscosity of the honey, the result will be a dish decorated with dozens of small trapped flies.
Step 4. Buy fly paper from any supermarket
It is a very inexpensive item that can help you solve your fly problem.
Advice
- Try to find the source that attracts flies. For example, if an old package of tangerines or any forgotten fruit or leftover food lies in your kitchen, get rid of any spoiled food immediately.
- Keep fruit and food protected and not exposed to the air, flies are attracted to anything.
Warnings
- Flies can be healthy carriers of dangerous diseases. This is because their main food is feces, so they could carry the bacteria contained in the feces up to infect your countertop, your food and your dishes.
- Read the fly paper ingredient list before purchasing, and make sure it doesn't contain any substances that are poisonous to humans. Otherwise, if it comes into contact with food, it could create major health problems for your family.
