These instructions will help you install a printer without the installation disc.
Steps
Step 1. Find out if you have a normal or multifunctional printer
Step 2. Make sure you know the model and brand of the printer you want to install
Step 3. Go to the manufacturer's website
Step 4. Go to the support and drivers page
You will need to download the specific driver for your printer.
Step 5. If you have an Epson printer, write its name or a part of it; if you have an HP printer, you will also need to write its serial number
On the driver page there will be a specific box where you will have to write the product name or serial number. You will then find yourself on a page where your printer will appear, and the site will give you the option to download the driver.
Step 6. Click the download button next to your operating system to get the driver
Step 7. Now save the file to your hard drive
Step 8. Go to the destination folder and double click on the file to unzip it
Step 9. When the printer is not connected to the computer, run the downloaded driver
Step 10. Follow the instructions
Advice
- If you don't have internet, ask a friend to download the file for you and pass it to you on a stick so you can install it.
- If you call the manufacturer, they may mail you the driver if you don't have the installation disc and can't find a friend to download it for you.
- If you don't have a friend who can help you, go to a library and download the driver from there.
