This article explains how to find a Snapchat user's username using an iPhone, iPad, or Android device. You can try to search for a name or phone number and then view the associated username in the search results. You can also take a look at the list of all your telephone contacts and search for their usernames in this section.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Use the Search Function
Step 1. Open Snapchat
on your iOS device.
The icon features a white ghost in a yellow box. You can find it on the Home screen or in an application folder.
Step 2. Click on the button
Look at the top of the screen.
This will allow you to search for any user by entering data such as name, phone number or username.
Step 3. Enter your contact's name or phone number
You can search by entering the name or phone number of a phone contact, friend, or any other Snapchat user.
Step 4. Review the results to find the person you are looking for
Your Snapchat friends can be found in the section titled "Friends and Groups". You can find other people in the section titled "Add friends". Each user's username will appear under their full name, next to their avatar or Bitmoji.
Press on See more at the bottom of the list to expand it.
Method 2 of 2: Using the "Add Friends" List
Step 1. Open Snapchat
on your iOS device.
The icon features a white ghost in a yellow box. You can find it on the Home screen or in an application folder.
Step 2. Click on your profile icon or on your Bitmoji
This icon is located in the upper left corner of the screen. This will open your profile menu.
Step 3. Click on Add Friends
This option is found on the profile menu, under your Snapcode. The quick add menu will open, where you will be suggested friends.
Step 4. Select All contacts at the top right of the list
This button is located in the upper right corner of the quick add list, below the search bar. The list of all your telephone contacts will be opened.
Step 5. Find the person you were looking for in the contact list
In this section you will see all your telephone contacts. Each user's username will appear under their full name, next to their profile avatar or Bitmoji.
- You can use the search bar at the top of the screen to quickly find and add your friends.
- You will see the button add next to some contacts. This means that these people use Snapchat.
- Next to other contacts you will see the button Invite. This means that these contacts still don't use Snapchat.
- You can send an invitation to these people to create an account on Snapchat.
