While the arrangement of the balls is quite simple, there are some rules and some tricks to do it correctly. Steps
Method 1 of 2: Field the Balls for a Ball Game 8
Step 1. Start with ball number 1 (yellow in color) and place it on the tip of the triangle

Step 1. Try to find a diamond for 9 balls
It is preferable to have the rhombus instead of the triangle since the alignment of the balls is different than in Ball 8. The pattern in the rhombus is 1-2-3-2-1. You can also use the classic triangle to do the 9-Ball deployment, but you will get a less compact deployment.
Step 2. For all 9-ball variants you place the number 1 ball in the vertex and the number 9 ball in the center
Ball number 1 is always on top of the lineup, and ball 9 is always directly in the center.
Step 3. Arrange all the other balls randomly around numbers 1 and 9
As in 8-ball, traditional rules want all balls to be placed randomly.
A variant 9 Ball amateur requires that the billiard balls are arranged sequentially, from top to bottom and from left to right, except for 9 ball, which must remain in the center. So 1 ball will be in the vertex and 8 ball on the bottom tip.
Advice
- Many prefer to use 1 ball as their first ball, but it is not required by the rules of the game.
- If you find it difficult to compact the balls in the lineup, move them to the desired point and then suddenly stop them to keep them close together. Trying to remove the triangle with a slow motion does not always ensure the desired result.
