Step 2. Add milk and ice to the blender

By using crushed ice, you will facilitate the work of your blender and speed up preparation.

What variety of milk? The decision is up to you. Do you keep calories in check? Choose skim, soy, or almond milk. Do you want a creamier drink? 2% fat milk or coconut milk are for you

They will give the drink a touch of energy and extra texture. If you don't like almonds, you can of course skip this step or substitute something else like oatmeal, quinoa, or peanut butter.

  • Do you love almonds? Perfect, abound if you wish!
  • Now is the time when you can add vanilla extract if you want. It will accentuate the natural vanilla aromas in your milkshake.

Step 5. Blend the ingredients until you get a uniform blend

If ice settles on the bottom of the blender, use a spoon to stir the drink between mixing intervals. Aside from this need, it should take no more than a minute or two.

Step 1. Put one or two sliced bananas in a blender

Better if frozen, although the only really important thing is that they are ripe. If frozen, they will obviously be colder, thereby eliminating the need for more ice to ensure a perfectly thick milkshake. What about the amount of bananas? It depends on how intense your urge to eat them is.

Step 2. Add ice and a liquid of your choice

Note that crushed ice will be gentler with your blender. As for liquids, there are usually two ways to go:

  • A cow's milk substitute, such as soy, almond, or coconut. You will get a classic milkshake, perfectly matched with the flavors of chocolate, peanut butter and other sweeter flavors and notes of dried fruit.
  • A fruit juice, such as orange, apple, or pineapple juice. In this case your drink will be more like a smoothie and better when combined with other fruits or vegetables, such as blueberries, mangoes, kale or spinach.

Step 3. Add sugar and any other additional flavors you want to experiment with

If you want to use sugar, so be it. However, some bananas are sweet enough that you don't need to, likewise, if you've used coconut juice or milk, your blend may already be sweet enough. Why not taste and evaluate it yourself?

Of the possible additional flavors, any of the ones mentioned in the previous method will do just fine, even if your imagination is the only real limitation. Flavors of fresh and dried fruit, vegetables or chocolate are perfect! Opt for about 1/2 cup or less, depending on the intensity you want to add to your preparation

Step 4. Blend

The ingredients are ready to be mixed and whipped! It will only take a minute or two. Should the ice resist, it may be necessary to blend at multiple intervals. If necessary, adjust the density of your milkshake by adding more liquid or other fruit.

Step 5. Pour it into glasses and enjoy

This recipe allows you to make about 2 servings of milkshake, also based on your craving for a sweet tooth. Transfer any leftover milkshake to a glass and refrigerate it for later enjoyment.

Add a straw to the glass and perhaps complete with whipped cream, a few drops of chocolate, dried fruit or a piece of fresh fruit. Really great, why not prepare it more often?

Advice

  • You can add other fruits to taste, besides banana, to make your milkshake even healthier and more nutritious.
  • All you really need are banana and ice. Even if you are missing an ingredient, still try making your own milkshake.
  • Unless you love banana pieces, make sure you blend them evenly.
  • You can sweeten your drink even more naturally by using good honey. If you wish, also add a protein preparation to increase its nutritional value.
  • Don't forget to plug the blender before turning it on if you don't want to have to clean up the whole kitchen !!!
  • Before you start making the milkshake, wash your hands carefully.

Warnings

  • It is important to use fresh milk and ripe bananas!
  • Always be careful when using the blender, do not insert any utensils inside it while it is in operation!
