The Lucky Egg is a very useful item that increases the experience gained by those who hold it by 50%. In most cases though, it can only be found on wild Chansey, which are usually rare and only have a 5% chance of keeping it. Do you want to try to find it more easily? Keep reading.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Diamond, Pearl and Platinum
Step 1. Use a Pokemon with the Composite Eye ability, one with Investigation and one with False Swipe (to make catching easier) or Thief (to be able to steal the item)
Composite Eye's effect increases the chances of wild Pokemon having items. Make sure the Pokemon are at least level 21 (in Platinum, 19 in Diamond / Pearl), because you will need to make sure the Repellents prevent your Poke Radar from being interrupted.
If you are playing Diamond, it can be difficult to find a Pokemon with Investigation, because one of the Pokemon that knows this ability (Stantler) cannot be caught in Diamond, while the other (Banette) can only be caught at night. If you are playing Pearl or Platinum, however, you can find Stantler on Route 207 using the Poke Radar. If you manage to get a Banette, though, that's even better, as Chansey's Normal-type moves can't hit it
Step 2. Reach Route 209
Use a Repellent (preferably Max), set the Poke Radar to Select, put the Composite Eye Pokemon first (the effect will work even if this Pokemon is defeated in battle), and save your game.
Step 3. Use the Poke Radar until you find a Chansey
Once in battle, send the Pokemon with Investigation, and if the Chansey has the Lucky Egg, catch it or use Thief. If it doesn't, defeat it and try again. Remember to take the Lucky Egg from the Pokemon that stole it with Thief.
Watch out for other wild Pokemon, besides Chansey, who can disrupt your streak
Step 4. Repeat this as many times as you like to get more than one Lucky Egg
Method 2 of 3: HeartGold and SoulSilver
Step 1. It is very, VERY recommended that you only try to follow this step when there is a Chansey infestation on Route 13
Otherwise this Pokemon only has a 1% chance of appearing. Check out the Pokegear to check the infestation of the day.
Step 2. As in the previous case, use Pokemon with Composite Eye, Investigation and False Swipe or Thief
But you'll also need a Slashed Pokemon.
Step 3. Find the area on Route 13 blocked by a tree
Reach it, put the Composite Eye Pokemon in first position and save your game.
Step 4. Fight until you find a wild Chansey
Prepare the Pokemon with Investigation. If the Chansey has a Lucky Egg, steal it with Thief or catch the Pokemon.
Step 5. Repeat this as many times as you like to get more than one Lucky Egg
Method 3 of 3: Black and White
Step 1. Go to Spiraria, then continue to Route 13 until you find the lonely man dressed in black wearing sunglasses
This is the treasure hunter who usually gives you evolutionary items such as the Doubtful Disc and the Electrifier. Save your game before talking to him.
Step 2. Talk to the man
If he gives you a Lucky Egg, great. If he doesn't, restart the game and talk to him until you get one.
