Would you like to be able to format the text of email messages sent from your iOS device? The Mail application allows you to format text in bold, italic or underline it. This procedure can be used in any application that supports the RTF format.
Steps
Step 1. Keep your finger pressed on the text you want to select
The context menu will appear as soon as you release your finger.
Step 2. Tap "Select"
This option allows you to highlight the portion of text to be modified.
Step 3. Drag the sliders at the ends of the selected area to change the portion of text that the formatting options will apply to
Remember that you can only select whole words.
Step 4. Press the "G C S" button
The text formatting menu will appear.
If you don't see the " G. C S ", tap the" ▶ "icon.
Step 5. Choose how you want to format the selected text
If you choose the "Bold", "Italic" or "Underline" options, the highlighted portion of text will be formatted accordingly.
- If you wish, you can apply all three formatting options at the same time.
- If the chosen option does not suit you, you can remove it by pressing the corresponding button a second time.
Advice
- This method only works with applications that support Rich Text Format (RTF), such as the Mail app.
- If the version of iOS installed on your iPhone is out of date, you may need to update the operating system to the latest version available in order to take advantage of this feature.
