Cuticle oil is a great product for keeping nails visibly healthy and clean. Start by applying it all over the nails of one hand. Depending on the type of applicator you have, you can pour it with the dropper, apply it with a brush or a special roll-on. Then, take a minute to massage it into your cuticles. Use it before bed, after pushing back your cuticles or whenever you have some free time. Don't put it on before getting your manicure. Instead, wait to finish it before applying the oil.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Massage the Oil on the Cuticles
Step 1. Hold the dropper five centimeters away from the nail
Do this if the oil is being dispensed through a dropper. Other products may have a brush (such as nail polish) or a roll-on to dispense oil.
Step 2. Apply the oil to each nail
Focusing on one hand at a time, pour a drop of oil on each nail. A small amount is enough to get a good result, but don't be afraid to apply it more generously and frequently if you need to.
Alternatively, apply it to each nail with the brush or roll-on
Step 3. Massage the oil into your cuticles
Make sure to spread it on the sides of the nail, but also on the skin of the surrounding area. Take a minute to massage the product into your nails to stimulate blood circulation.
Repeat these three steps on the other hand
Step 4. Reapply every two to three hours
It takes about two to three hours for the oil to absorb and dry completely. Alternatively, reapply it as often as you feel the need.
Method 2 of 2: Deciding When to Use Cuticle Oil
Step 1. Use the oil after your manicure
Cuticle oil is a great product to rehydrate them after a manicure. In addition to not damaging and not removing the nail polish, it is perfect for refreshing an older manicure. Just massage it into your cuticles and nails to polish them and make the polish shine again.
Do not use it before the manicure, otherwise it will prevent the polish from adhering to the nail. If you decide to use it before the treatment, then be sure to clean your nails with nail polish remover or alcohol
Step 2. Apply the oil after pushing back the cuticles
First, soften them by soaking them in water for 10 minutes. Once they are soft, push them back with an orange stick or metal cuticle pusher. Then, massage the oil into your cuticles.
Avoid popping, cutting or removing cuticles
Step 3. Apply it whenever you have some free time
For example, put oil on the bus, in a taxi, at your desk, or while watching TV on the sofa. Basically, use it whenever you have some free time.
Apply it twice a day or more if needed
Step 4. Apply it before going to bed
This is a great way to make sure your cuticles stay hydrated and nourished for the next day. Just remember to be consistent to keep them visibly healthy.
