Being outdoors is good for the mood, but it can also cause a lot of damage to the skin. In addition to cancers and other obviously serious conditions, the sun can cause spots or darken the complexion in general. If you want to lighten or brighten your skin, try using a homemade whitening cream. The recipe for this article involves using ingredients you probably already have in the kitchen. A lemon whitening cream can be prepared for oily skin, while an almond cream for dry skin. Both of these preparations are very effective for giving brightness to the face.
Ingrediants
Lemon Whitening Cream
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of lemon juice
- 1 cup (250g) unsweetened organic yogurt
- 2 or 3 drops of rose water
Almond whitening cream
- 5 or 6 almonds
- 1 cup (250g) unsweetened organic yogurt
- 1 teaspoon (7 g) of honey
- 2 teaspoons (10 ml) of lemon juice)

Method 1 of 2: Make a Lemon Whitening Cream
Step 1. In a small bowl, mix 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of lemon juice and 1 cup (250 g) of unsweetened organic yogurt until smooth
- Use fresh lemon juice for best results.
- Lemon juice contains vitamin C, which is known to be effective in inhibiting the production of melanin. Its action helps prevent the skin from darkening or tanning.
- Yogurt contains lactic acid, which is effective for exfoliating and lightening the skin.
Step 2. At this point, add 2 or 3 drops of rose water
Stir the mixture to incorporate it well.

Step 3. When the preparation is complete, pour the cream into a jar or other airtight container and put it in the fridge (you have to keep it in the fridge because it contains yogurt)
You can keep it for 1 or 2 weeks. Either way, throw it away if it gets moldy first.
If you think that the doses indicated in this recipe are excessive and you do not think you will be able to finish the cream before it goes bad, halve the ingredients to prepare less
Step 4. Apply the cream in the evening
Use it every day for best results. It is preferable to apply it in the evening, as the lactic acid photosensitizes the skin. Gently massage it on your face before going to bed, then rinse it the next morning with warm water and your usual cleanser.
Some skin types are sensitive to lactic acid and vitamin C. If you have delicate skin, it is best to apply the cream every other day, gradually getting used to the ingredients
Method 2 of 2: Make an Almond Whitening Cream
Step 1. Place 5 or 6 whole, unsalted almonds in the bowl of a food processor
Grind them to a fine, powdery consistency. The process should take 5 to 10 seconds.
- Don't have a food processor? Grind the almonds using a blender or coffee grinder.
- Almonds are rich in vitamin E, an antioxidant that is effective in preventing sun damage, such as blemishes.
Step 2. Place ground almonds in a small bowl, then mix with 1 cup (250g) of unsweetened organic yogurt, 1 teaspoon (7g) of honey and 2 teaspoons (10ml) of lemon juice
You should get a homogeneous mixture.

Step 4. Apply the cream before going to bed
