The citric acid contained in oranges and lemons is great for naturally lightening hair. A lightening product made with citrus fruits is inexpensive, free from harmful chemicals and easy to apply.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Oranges and Lemons
Step 1. Get 2 oranges, 2 lemons, 1 tureen and some hair conditioner
Step 2. Squeeze the citrus fruits
Pour the juice into the bowl and add a small amount of conditioner and water. You will get an even brighter color.
Step 3. Stir and wait 10 minutes
Step 4. Apply the mixture to your hair by distributing it evenly
Step 5. Put on a shower cap and let the lightening treatment work for 2 hours
If possible, expose yourself to the sun after applying a protective cream to the skin. In this case, 30-60 minutes will suffice.
Step 6. Wash your hair as usual with shampoo and conditioner
Step 7. Let them dry naturally
Step 8. After a couple of days / weeks you will notice the first visible results
Method 2 of 2: Lemons only
Step 1. Blend 240ml of lemon juice with 240ml of water
Pour the solution into a spray bottle or bowl. Shake or mix carefully.
Step 2. Let the mixture sit
In the meantime, moisten your hair without wetting it excessively, in this way the lemon juice will not run and reduce its effects.
Step 3. Distribute the mixture evenly over the hair to achieve the most natural look possible
Don't forget the roots. Using the spray bottle, spray the solution into the hair from the roots to the ends. Get upside down and treat the nape area as well.
Step 4. Let the treatment work for at least 30 minutes
Do not extend the application beyond an hour so as not to risk damaging the hair.
Step 5. Wash your hair as usual with shampoo and conditioner
Step 6. The result will not show immediately, it will take a few days
Repeat several times and do not apply heat from blow dryers or straighteners to your hair.
Advice
- Method 1: You can leave the treatment on overnight for an ideal result.
- Citric acid works best on light brown and blonde hair. Dark hair may take on unsightly orange tones.
