Electabuzz is a Pokémon that was initially introduced in the first version of the game. In Diamond and Pearl, she received a new evolution: Electivire. This means you cannot evolve it if you are playing the Game Boy Advance or original Game Boy generations. However, you may have the option to transfer it to a newer version and evolve it there.
Steps
Part 1 of 2: Evolving Electabuzz
Step 1. Move your Electabuzz to a Generation IV or later game
The evolution of this Pokémon, Electivire, is not present in the older versions of the game.
- You cannot trade a Pokémon from a Generation I or Generation II game to subsequent ones. You will need to start a new game in a Generation III or newer game. Remember, Electabuzz can only evolve starting from the fourth generation.
- To transfer a Pokémon from a Generation III to Generation IV game, you must finish the game and go to the Friends Park.
Step 2. Find an Electritor
Electabuzz needs this item to evolve into Electivire. You can find it in different places, depending on the version of the game. It does not exist in Generation III or earlier games.

Step 3. Assign the Energizer to Electabuzz
The Pokémon must have that item in order to evolve.
Step 4. Trade Electabuzz with a friend
You must transfer the Pokémon after assigning the item to it to evolve it. Find someone willing to give you Electivire back after the evolution, which will happen right at the moment of the exchange.
- You can only trade between games of the same generation. Usually, in all versions, it is possible to transfer Pokémon to other players only after defeating one or two gym leaders.
- In Generation IV and V games, you can trade in the Contact Room of all Pokémon Centers. In the fifth generation, you can also take advantage of the IR functionality.
- In Generation VI, local and internet trading is done using the Player Search System.
- In Generation VII, local and internet trading is done using the Festiplaza.
Step 5. Ask your friend to give Electivire back to you
The Pokémon will be on his team when the trade is complete, so be sure to get it back.

Part 2 of 2: Finding an Electritor
Step 1. Diamond and Pearl:
you must capture a wild Elekid, who may have an Electro with him. The most important requirement to find it is to insert the Pokémon FireRed cartridge into the second slot of the DS (you can't do this on DSi, 3DS or 2DS). You will also need to have completed the National Pokédex, but it is not necessary to have defeated the League. Once all of these conditions are met, you will have an 8% chance of finding an Elekid on Route 205 and at the Turbine Plant.
Step 2. Platinum:
you can find an Electritor at the Turbine Plant by swimming from the right side of the bridge before the plant, and then return to the ground near the wind turbine that you cannot normally reach, behind the fence. Alternatively, you can try to catch a wild Electabuzz, which may have the item with it, in the tall grass on Route 222.
Step 3. HeartGold and SoulSilver:
you can find an Electritor on the B1 floor of the Celestial Grotto. You will need Surf, Flash and Rock Climb to reach it. Arrive in the upper right corner of floor B1 and you will see a rock face that you can climb. Keep going right, then use Rock Climb again to climb up. You will see the Electrower on the ground near you.
If you have the Pokéwalker pedometer and reach the Camp Concordia zone during a special event, you can use the Pokéwalker for a chance to get an Electro after 2550 steps
Step 4. Black and White:
You can find a Black and White Electrier on Route 13. This area becomes available only after completing the main story of the game. Take a Slashed Pokémon with you and enter the path from the north of Spiraria. Continue along the path until you reach the steps leading to the beach. Proceed directly down before the stairs and use Cut on the tree you see. A few steps beyond the tree, you will find the Electroener.
Step 5. White 2 and Black 2:
you can find an Electher in the Solidarity Gallery Antiques Shop, but you have to be lucky. This is one of the possible rewards of the Small, Ordinary, Large and Super Large boxes, but only if the Pokémon Breeder Agata or the Ombrellina Gianna manage the shop.
In White 2, you can find an Electrician in the Plasma Frigate's cafeteria. The ship moves to different locations throughout the game, but will be permanently docked outside the P2 Lab after you defeat Ghetsis
Step 6. X and Y:
you can get a 32 PB Electro at Villa Battaglia. This structure becomes available only after finishing the game. You will have to face difficult battles and respect limits on the use of items and Pokémon. Normally you will receive 1 PB for each win, but with winning streaks you will get bonus points.
You can also play balloon popping at the PokéMile Club. You must play Level 2, which costs 100 PokéMiles. You can earn Miles by walking through the game, trading with other players and online battles. Pop 10 balloons to try to win the Electroener
Step 7. Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire:
you will need to capture a wild Elekid, who may have the Electrocutioner with him. You can only find this Pokémon in Mirage Mountain which appears south of Route 129. The only way to reach it is to ride your Latios or Latias. The mountain has a chance to appear every day.
Mirage Mountain can appear in several locations, but you will only be able to find Elekid when it appears south of Route 129
Step 8. Sun and Moon:
you can get an Electrover from a man in the Huntail Hut in the Sea Village. The same character will also give you a Magmaritore (which is used to evolve Magmar into Magmortar).
