  • Dry skin or skin subject to an aging process: lavender, palmarosa, rose, geranium.
  • Normal skin: pink, geranium.

Step 3. Pour the mixture into a blender and let it cool for 60-90 minutes

The blender can be replaced with a food processor

Step 4. Blend the mixture while gradually adding the aloe vera gel

Set the blender to low. While it is running, slowly pour 1 cup (250 g) of aloe vera gel into it. Turn it off every now and then and scoop up the residue from the sides of the jug with a rubber spatula.

Advice

  • Essential oils can be found online and in health food stores. Do not use aromatic or candle oils: they do not have the same function.
  • Beeswax helps stabilize the cream. If you don't have it, you can use carnauba wax, emulsion or soy wax (in this case, halve the doses).
  • Use only 100% pure beeswax. If you can't find it in flakes, buy a block and grate it.
  • Try storing the cream in small jars, which are more practical than large ones.
  • Avoid using candle wax as it is often mixed with ingredients that are unsafe for the skin.
  • Most face creams last for a few months. Should it start to give off an unpleasant odor or suffer any other changes, throw it away immediately.
  • Do not incorporate essential oils while the mixture is hot, otherwise you risk nullifying their beneficial properties.

Warnings

  • Make sure all tools and jars are clean and sterile. If they are dirty, you risk contaminating the cream.
  • Never apply face cream on dirty skin. You will only trap dirt residue in your pores and see blemishes appear. The face should always be washed and toned before proceeding with hydration.
