The craving for cookies is truly irresistible, but unfortunately most people don't want to go to the kitchen baking pans of candy or turning on the oven when they feel "peckish". However, there is good news: you can use the microwave! If you don't want to make chocolate chip cookies, you can ignore this ingredient and use others, such as dried fruit or cinnamon.
Ingrediants
For a single chocolate biscuit
- 1 tablespoon of salted and softened butter
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 1 pinch of vanilla extract
- Half a teaspoon of whole milk
- 3 tablespoons of flour
- 1 pinch of baking powder
- 1 pinch of salt
- 2 tablespoons of chocolate chips
For the Chocolate Biscuit in a Cup
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 1 tablespoon of white granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
- 1 pinch of vanilla extract
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 yolk
- 50 g of flour
- 2 tablespoons of chocolate chips
For 12-18 Chocolate Bars
- 100 g of softened butter
- 150 g of brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 15 ml of milk
- 5 ml of vanilla extract
- 250 g of flour
- 3 g of baking powder
- 1 pinch of salt
- 180 g of dark chocolate chips divided into two doses
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Make a single chocolate chip cookie
Step 1. Beat the butter with the brown sugar
Pour 2 tablespoons of brown sugar into a bowl, add one of butter and mix everything with the tines of a fork; work the ingredients until you get a light and fluffy cream.
If the butter is at room temperature, this step is simpler; if necessary, you can soften it in the microwave by heating it for 5 seconds at a time
Step 2. Mix the vanilla with the milk
Pour a pinch of vanilla extract into half a teaspoon of whole milk and transfer everything to the butter mixture; you can use a fork or small spatula to incorporate the liquids.
Once the liquid ingredients are mixed, the batter should be quite watery
Step 3. Add the powders
You have to use 3 tablespoons of flour, but start by incorporating only one, then pour in a pinch of salt and one of yeast; finally, incorporate the remaining tablespoons of flour and mix until you get a homogeneous mixture. At the end you can enrich everything with two tablespoons of chocolate chips.
Do not mix the batter too much or the biscuit will become hard
Step 4. Put the mixture on the parchment paper
Cut out a square of 15 cm on each side, collect the dough with a spoon and transfer it to the center of the sheet giving it the shape of a ball; squeeze it lightly to flatten it a little.
- By crushing the biscuit, you distribute the mixture better and ensure homogeneous cooking in the microwave.
- If you want the biscuit to be even more delicious, you can add a few more drops of chocolate on the surface.
Step 5. Bake the cake
Place the parchment paper with the dough on a plate safe for use in the appliance and bake the cookie for 40 seconds. If after this time it still seems a little raw, continue at intervals of 5 seconds until the biscuit is perfectly cooked; let it cool for a minute before removing it from the parchment paper.
This dessert should be served or eaten immediately; if you wait too long, it can get tough
Method 2 of 3: Prepare the Chocolate Chip Cookie in the Cup
Step 1. Melt the butter
Get a small cup in which to prepare the dessert. It should provide enough space to allow the dough to expand during cooking; then choose one with a capacity of about 180-200 ml. Put a tablespoon of butter in the cup and heat it in the microwave until it has melted.
This operation is very quick; activate the appliance for only 15 seconds and then proceed in small increments as needed. Do not let the fat boil, or it will start splashing inside the oven
Step 2. Add the sugar, vanilla extract and salt
Use a spoonful of white granulated sugar, one of brown sugar, a pinch of salt and vanilla; add them to the butter using a fork or small spatula. Make sure you have mixed them thoroughly, so that there are no lumps of dark sugar.
If you wish, you can use two tablespoons of the same sugar; however, cane gives it a richer flavor because it is flavored with molasses
Step 3. Incorporate the yolk
Break an egg and separate the egg white from the yolk; throw away the first one because you don't need it for this recipe. Add the red part to the other whipped ingredients and mix until you get a homogeneous mixture.
You can store the egg white in the refrigerator and use it for another recipe, but don't wait more than a couple of days
Step 4. Add the flour and chocolate chips
Pour in just under 50g of flour and stir the contents of the cup until you no longer see traces of white powder. Incorporate two full spoonfuls of chocolate chips and spread them into the batter while stirring.
Do not taste the batter before cooking as it contains a raw egg
Step 5. Cook the cake in the microwave
Put the cup in the appliance and turn it on for 40 seconds. Check the biscuit to understand when it is ready: it should be dry; if it feels liquid or raw, continue cooking at 10 second intervals until cooked. Serve it or eat it right away.
Do not heat the mixture for more than 1 minute in total, as it continues to cook even as it cools; therefore avoid leaving it in the microwave for too long
Method 3 of 3: Prepare the Chocolate Bars
Step 1. Whip the cream butter with the sugar
Pour 100g of softened butter into a bowl and add 150g of brown sugar. Use a spoon or electric mixer to work the ingredients until they turn into a light, fluffy mixture.
If the butter is hard, you can put it on a plate or cup and soften it in the microwave; just be careful not to melt it
Step 2. Add the liquids
Combine an egg with 15ml of milk and 5ml of vanilla extract, mixing thoroughly to homogenize them; make sure the egg is well beaten and blended with the other ingredients.
If you don't have vanilla extract, you can replace it with almond extract or leave it out altogether
Step 3. Mix the powders and chocolate chips
Add 250 g of flour to the creamy mixture along with 3 g of baking powder and a pinch of salt. Use a spoon or an electric mixer to work the ingredients until you get a homogeneous batter; when finished, add 90 g of chocolate chips.
Do not over mix the dough, otherwise the bars will become hard
Step 4. Spread the mixture into the dish
Grease a square of 20 cm on each side and that is suitable for use in the microwave. Transfer the dough to the pan, spreading it evenly with a rubber spatula or spoon; then sprinkle the surface with the remaining 90 g of chocolate chips.
You can use vegetable oil to grease the pan
Step 5. Cook the bars
Put the dish in the microwave and turn it on for 3 and a half minutes; after this time, check that the mixture is dry and firm. If it still looks raw, continue cooking at 20-second intervals, checking the dessert often; wait for it to cool and then serve it.
