If you have to cook in a place without a stove or in a small kitchen, you can still prepare tasty dishes like spaghetti. Decide if you prefer to microwave them using tap water or boiling water and oil. After cooking them, serve them with a ready-made sauce to your liking. Keep in mind that with the microwave you can also cook a good sauce, excellent to accompany spaghetti.

Steps
Method 1 of 4: Cook the Pasta in the Microwave Oven
Step 1. Break up the spaghetti and put them in a bowl
Prepare the amount of spaghetti you want to cook, then break them in halves or thirds and place them in a microwave-safe container.
Step 2. Pour in enough water to cover the spaghetti by about 5cm
You can use room temperature or tap water. Pour it into the bowl making sure the pasta is immersed completely.
During cooking, the size of the spaghetti will double or triple. This is why they need to be covered with water
Step 3. Microwave the pasta for 3 minutes longer than indicated on the package
Place the bowl in the microwave and read the pasta cooking instructions. Set the timer for 3 minutes longer than the manufacturer recommends.
For example, if the package tells you to boil the spaghetti for 9 minutes, you will need to cook them for 12 minutes in the microwave
Step 4. Drain and use the cooked pasta
Carefully remove the hot bowl from the microwave. Place a colander in the sink and slowly pour the boiling pasta into it to separate it from the cooking water. Season with the sauce of your choice.
Store leftover cooked pasta in the fridge for 3 to 5 days using an airtight container
Method 2 of 4: Cook the Pasta Using Boiling Water
Step 1. Break up the raw spaghetti and put them in a bowl
Measure 300 g of raw spaghetti and break them into 3 parts. You should be able to easily place them in a microwave-safe bowl without them popping out.
Step 2. Coat the pasta with oil and pour boiling water over it
Add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the raw noodles and mix them until they are evenly coated, then pour in enough boiling water to cover them by at least 5 cm.
Mixing spaghetti with oil helps prevent them from clumping when cooking in the microwave
Step 3. Cook the spaghetti in the microwave for 8 minutes
Place a lid on the bowl, or cover it with cling film. Put it in the microwave and cook the pasta on maximum power for 8 minutes. Remove the bowl from the oven and stir the spaghetti halfway through cooking.
Stir the noodles carefully, as the bowl will be hot
Step 4. Remove the spaghetti and let them rest for 2 minutes
After letting them rest for a few minutes, taste a couple to determine if they have reached the desired doneness. If you find them too al dente, put them back in the microwave and cook for another 2 minutes.
Step 5. Drain and serve the spaghetti with the sauce
Place a colander in the sink and slowly pour the spaghetti over it to drain. Serve hot with your favorite sauce.
To store leftovers, place them in an airtight container and keep them in the fridge for 3 to 5 days
Method 3 of 4: Heat a Ready-made Sauce in the Microwave
Step 1. Pour a jar of ready-made sauce into a large bowl
Choose one that is microwaveable and large enough to hold any splashes of sauce. If you want to make a smaller portion, just pour the amount you need into the bowl.
Advise:
choose the type of sauce you prefer, from marinara to white!
Step 2. Heat the sauce in the microwave at 30-second intervals
Place the bowl in the microwave and set it to low to heat the sauce. During the procedure, turn off the oven every 30 seconds to remix it.
Keep in mind that it takes 2-3 minutes to heat an entire jar of sauce, while a single serving can only take 1
Step 3. Spread the hot sauce over the cooked spaghetti
Once the sauce has reached the desired temperature, remove it from the oven and pour it over the cooked spaghetti with the help of a spoon. Serve the seasoned pasta while it is hot.
Method 4 of 4: Prepare the Ragout in the Microwave
Step 1. Cut 1 onion, 1 clove of garlic and 1 carrot
Peel the vegetables and place them on a cutting board. Take a sharp knife to cut the onion into pieces of about 1 cm and chop the garlic. Cut the carrot into cubes and put everything in a large bowl suitable for the microwave.
If you are short on time, buy a fried mix in an envelope
Step 2. Place 300g of lean ground beef in the vegetable bowl and mix
Add the meat to the vegetables you cut into pieces. This will help cook it evenly.
Did you know that?
It is important to use lean meat to prevent the gravy from becoming fatty. If you don't want to use ground beef, replace it with chicken or turkey.
Step 3. Cover the bowl and cook the mixture for 3 minutes
Spread a sheet of cling film on the container, then make a gap of about 5 cm in the plastic material so that the steam can escape. Cook the mixture for 3 minutes on maximum power.
- If you don't want to use cling film and the bowl has a lid, place it so that the bowl is slightly uncovered and the steam can escape.
- Handle the bowl carefully as it will get hot.
Step 4. Cook the mixture for another 3 minutes
Leave it covered and cook until the meat is browned. To make sure it is cooked well, place a special thermometer in the center of the bowl. It should reach a temperature of around 71 ° C.
- If the meat is still slightly pink or hasn't reached this temperature, cover it and cook it for another minute before checking it again.
- When cooked, drain the fat you see in the bowl.
Step 5. Incorporate peeled tomatoes, water, broth and oregano
Open a 400g jar of peeled tomatoes and add them to the meat bowl. Incorporate 4 tablespoons of boiling water, 1 teaspoon of dried oregano and 1 stock cube or 1 teaspoon of granular broth.
Step 6. Cook the ragù for 7 minutes
Cover the bowl with cling film or lid again and cook the sauce on full power. It should start to boil and give off a pleasant smell.
Taste the sauce and add ground pepper to taste. You can taste it without problems, as the meat will be cooked by now
Step 7. Cook the gravy for another 10 minutes before serving
Remove the lid and mix it well, then put the lid or cling film back on the bowl and cook the sauce for another 10 minutes. Stir it halfway through cooking so it cooks evenly. Carefully remove it from the microwave and pour it over the cooked spaghetti using a spoon.
Cover the leftovers and refrigerate them for up to 3-4 days
Advice
- To ensure that the pasta cooks evenly, do not pile it in the bowl, but make a hole in the center so that it has the shape of a donut or a ring. This will help you cook it faster and more evenly.
- If you are looking for a gluten-free variant, avoid regular spaghetti and try using the microwave to cook the pumpkin ones.
