Steps
Method 1 of 3: Create a Mojito Self-Service Table
Prepare all the ingredients and a laminated version of the recipe so that your guests can have fun preparing their own during the party.
Step 1. Arrange the ingredients for the mojito on the table, in a line running from left to right
You will need sugar, lime juice, sprigs of mint, sparkling water, rum, and ice.
Step 2. Provide tools
Prepare the sugar spoons, lime squeezer (if you don't intend to squeeze them in advance), mint pestles, shot glasses (30ml) to measure the sparkling water and rum, and a scoop or tongs to ice.
Step 3. Arrange the glasses
You can choose an old-fashioned model or any other type of cylindrical glass.
Step 4. Add more fruit
You can make a plate of strawberries available that people can mash with mint leaves to make a strawberry mojito. Alternatively, make a mango or watermelon puree to allow your guests to create their own variations of the traditional mojito.
Step 5. Print the mojito recipe on a large sheet of paper
Step 6. Laminate the sheet or place it in a laminated folder and display it on the mojito table
Step 7. Also print the recipe for some variations, in case those present want to add more fruits to their drinks
For example, let guests know how many strawberries to crush if they want to make a strawberry mojito.
Step 8. Refuel the table
During the party, you will need to make sure the attendees have all the ingredients they need to continue making their mojitos. Before the party starts, make sure you have purchased each item in sufficient doses. Calculate about 1 mojito per person for each hour of the party and multiply the ingredients accordingly.
Method 2 of 3: Make a Mojito Punch
This punch will surely satisfy your every guest. Combine the margarita blend, white rum, and fresh mint puree to make it.
Step 1. Put the mint leaves, margarita mix and 240ml seltzer in a blender
Step 2. Blend the ingredients into a puree
Step 3. Pour the puree into a large punch bowl through a very fine sieve
Step 4. Add the remaining seltzer and rum
Step 5. Stir in the lime slices and fresh mint leaves to decorate the punch bowl
Step 6. Add the 4 cups of ice
Step 7. Fill the glasses with ice
Step 8. Using a ladle, distribute 120ml of mojito punch in each of the guest glasses
Method 3 of 3: Plan the Rest of Your Party
Food, decorations, invitations and music are just some of the other aspects that you will need to organize in view of your mojito party.
Step 1. Choose the recipes
- Latin American cuisine goes perfectly with a mojito party. Serve tacos, quesadillas or other Central and South American finger food delights.
- You can also create a buffet for guests to help themselves.
- Plan 2 or 3 portions for each participant.
Step 2. Decide which look to give to your party
- Choose which environments or rooms to open to guests.
- Arrange the furniture so that guests can move around undisturbed.
- Place baskets and trays in which to store plates, glasses and cutlery after use, to make the next cleaning step easier.
- If you want to decorate the environment with festoons, lanterns, etc. choose elements in accordance with the location.
Step 3. Send out the invitations approximately 3 weeks before the party date
- Choose paper invitations to mail or hand deliver.
- You can also create your own email invitations or social media event. Digital invitations could be easier to manage and simplify the RSVP phase.
Step 4. Purchase the necessary tools
Guests will need plates, silverware and napkins, as well as glasses for the mojitos. You can choose to use classic or plastic tableware.
Step 5. Find appropriate music
Create a playlist on your mp3 player or iPod, or use a streaming service like Spotify or Pandora.
Step 6. Clean your home
- Hide all your personal documents, and make surfaces, such as those of tables and coffee tables, shine.
- Wash the bathroom carefully, your guests will make extensive use of it during the party.
