Babies love to laugh, as it is a new sound they can make. The easiest way to make kids laugh is to just do something funny, they like it a lot. Each child has their own sense of humor, so don't be afraid to try different techniques.
Steps
Part 1 of 2: Making a Child Laugh
Step 1. Make sure the baby is happy
This means he doesn't have to be hungry, sleepy, or need to be changed. In these cases he would be irritable and unwilling to laugh.
Step 2. Laugh yourself
Children, especially very young ones, tend to copy laughter. When you think something is funny they will think so too.
Three-month-old babies are already able to copy laughter. Every child is different though, and some may only start later
Step 3. Emphasize the absurdities
Babies from nine months are able to tell when something is wrong. For example, if you put a pan on your head, children will realize that it is a strange thing and will probably find it funny.
Step 4. Try with funny faces
Make funny faces by trying to widen your eyes and curl your lips or show your tongue. The child will find it funny and funny.
This technique works especially with six-month-old babies, because anything that is different from the usual is fun for them
Step 5. Make a funny noise
Babies love strange or funny sounds, such as the sound of a fart. You may have to try different noises to figure out which one is more fun for your baby.
Children also love animal sounds, so you can also try to imitate a dog or cat
Step 6. Try the cuckoo game
It is a classic, and the kids love it. Hide behind a book or cover your face with your hands, and then pop out suddenly. The child will have a great time and will want to repeat the game.
The cuckoo game is a lot of fun for children because they are not yet able to understand the permanence of the object. The permanence of the object is the awareness that something continues to exist even if it is not visible. Since babies under six months do not have this ability, it is a surprise for them to see a face suddenly appear, and they find it very funny
Step 7. Tickle
Children often find tickling a lot of fun, but don't overdo it - they may get tired of it.
Step 8. Use a puppet
Moving a puppet with your hands and making it dance and sing will make your baby laugh.
Step 9. Show your child pictures of other children
Children love their own kind, and will laugh at the sight of the images.
Step 10. Pursue your baby
If your baby is crawling, chase him. Make sure you smile so that the child understands that this is a game.
Step 11. Kiss your baby, and make some rattles
Doing rattles on the face or tummy will make the baby laugh. You could also try kissing the feet and toes.
Step 12. Steal his nose
Pretend you want to steal his nose, and show him your thumb between his fingers (his "nose"). He will have a lot of fun.
Step 13. Sing a song
Any song accompanied by hand or body movements will make the baby laugh. Try "If you are happy" or "Whiskey the spider".
Making unusual hand gestures is fun because the baby doesn't expect it
Part 2 of 2: Keep making a child laugh
Step 1. Laugh when you act funny
If you are trying to joke with your baby, be sure to smile or laugh. If you are doing something a little crazy you may worry the child if you are too serious.
In practice, some of these actions, such as tickling, chasing and playing the cuckoo, could be interpreted as dangers by your child. Smiling, you show him that everything is fine. Indeed, it is precisely that element of danger that makes it all fun, a bit like what happens in adult humor
Step 2. Prepare for failure
Sometimes trying to make a child laugh can have the opposite effect, and you may be frightening rather than amusing. This is normal, stop what you are doing immediately and hug the baby.
Step 3. Repeat what works
Kids love repeated pranks, so if you find something that works, repeat it as much as you want.
Laughing with your baby is a way to teach him to interact socially. You laugh because your baby laughs, and vice versa. This way you help them develop their social skills by simply having fun together
Step 4. Organize a game hangout
Let your child play with other children, and he will surely have a great time.
