In Sims 3, customization is everything, but it can be difficult to make drastic changes to your Sims when the game is in progress. However, thanks to a few tricks, you can access the Create a Sim tool at any time. Mistakes can occur, but you can make any changes to your Sims this way.
Steps
Step 1. Make sure the game is up to date
This cheat is only available in newer versions of Sims 3. If you are playing the basic version of the game and have never updated it, you will not be able to access the cheats.
- Make sure your computer is connected to the internet.
- Click the "Game Updates" tab in the Sims 3 Launcher, then click the "Update Now" button. The patch will be downloaded and applied to the game.
Step 2. Save your game
Using this cheat can cause game errors, so it's always a wise choice to save before enabling cheats to be able to go back in case of serious problems.
Step 3. Open the command console
You can open it at any time by pressing Ctrl + ⇧ Shift + C.
If the console does not open, some users have reported that this can be done with the key combination Ctrl + ⇧ Shift + ⊞ Win + C
Step 4. Type
testingcheatsenabled true, then press Enter.
Special menus will open when you ⇧ Shift-click on in-game items.
Step 5. Change Sim so you don't control the Sim you want to change
You will not see the edit option on the active Sim.
Step 6. Press and hold
⇧ Shift and click on the Sim to edit.
Select "Edit Sim into Create Sim" from the menu that appears.
You cannot edit Pregnant Sims, Imaginary Friends, Ghosts, Vampires, or Mummies
Step 7. Wait for the Create a Sim tool to open
This may take a few minutes.
Step 8. Save your changes
In some cases you will cause errors in the game with the cheats because the game was not designed to be used in this way. Not all changes will take effect once finished, and the game may close when Create A Sim mode exits.
