Protecting smartphones is very important nowadays. These devices, now indispensable, are increasingly expensive to buy and to have repaired. One of the most sensitive to wear is certainly the display. Although current screens are made of nearly indestructible materials, misuse and bad habits could cause injuries and scratches which, over time, could affect their functionality, rendering your phone unusable. Here's how to apply tempered glass film to your mobile phone screen.
Steps
Step 1. Create steam in the room
Use a method of creating steam in the room where you will be applying the film. For example, you could boil water in a saucepan or run hot water from the shower or use an upright steam iron. In fact, the vapor captures the dust suspended in the air, significantly reducing its presence. As soon as the steam has dissolved, you can start applying.
Step 2. Clean the phone screen with a wet wipe or microfiber wipe
Films purchased on the internet or in stores usually come with a wet wipe that removes dust and grease from the screen. If that's not the case, you can easily wipe off the dust and grease deposited on the display with a microfiber wipe.
Step 3. Dry the display with the dry wipe
If present in the package, use the dry wipe to dry the display and remove any residual dust and grease. Alternatively, leave the microfiber wipe on the screen to protect it from dust before application
Step 4. Remove the last residue with the antistatic adhesive
If present in the box, you can use this sticker to remove the last residue on the screen.
Step 5. Prepare the film for application
Remove the film from the plastic wrapping. With one hand hold the film on the ends (with your fingertips) and with the other remove the film that hides the sticky part. At this stage, avoid touching the part to be placed on the phone as much as possible.
Step 6. Carefully place the film on the phone
Take the measurements carefully before applying the film on the display and as soon as you are sure of its position, put it down without hesitation.
Step 7. Press your finger in the center of the screen
To make the film adhere well as soon as it is applied, press lightly on the center of the glass to make it adhere along the entire surface of the display. To eliminate any air bubbles, help with a card, credit card or similar.
Step 8. Collect the second film
This film protects the outside of the glass.
Step 9. Your smartphone screen is protected
Advice
- Do not touch the sticky part. Handle the film as if you were touching your favorite music cd (without touching the bottom part).
- Apply the protective film as slowly and as carefully as possible. It is absolutely forbidden to have a hand that trembles.
- Best to apply tempered glass as soon as you unpack your phone. Protect your device right away.
- Keep the sticky side of the screen protector facing down, so that as little dust sticks as possible during application.
- Alternatively, you could put a piece of tape on the non-adhesive side of the display saver for easier application.
- Adding a drop of water with detergent to the screen before applying the screen protector can make it easier to remove air bubbles. Just be careful not to wear too much.
- Avoid peeling and reattaching the film several times to find the optimal position or you risk making it lose its grip on the edges.
Warnings
- Dust is everywhere; if you spend too much time in the application you will find it on your screen.
- Don't get nervous!
