This article shows you how to access the Google script editor using a desktop browser and run code within it for the purpose of testing.
Steps
Step 1. Open Google Sheets using a browser
Type sheets.google.com in the browser address bar and press Enter on your keyboard.
Step 2. Click on a spreadsheet
Find the spreadsheet in which you want to run a script and open it.
Step 3. Click on the Tools tab
This button is located in the tab bar, under the file title (in the upper left corner). A drop-down menu will open.
Step 4. Click on Script Editor in the "Tools" menu
The Google Script Editor for Browser will open in a new tab.
Step 5. Create the script in the editor
You can write it directly into the window or delete everything on the page and paste the code from the clipboard.

Step 6. Give the project a title
Click on the "Untitled Project" section in the upper left corner and give the new project a name in the "Edit Project Name" window.
Step 7. Click on the icon
to run the script.
This button is located in the upper left corner of the toolbar, under the file name and tab bar. The code will be saved and executed in the script editor.
