This wikiHow teaches you how to search for a word, phrase, number, or character in a spreadsheet using a desktop browser.
Steps
Step 1. Open Google Sheets using a browser
Type sheets.google.com in the browser address bar and press Enter on your keyboard.
If the login does not happen automatically, enter your e-mail address or telephone number, then click on "Next", enter the password and click on "Next" again
Step 2. Click on a spreadsheet in the list of saved files
Search for the spreadsheet you want to search in and open it.
Step 3. Press the key combination that allows you to access the search function
This will open the search box in the upper right corner.
- On Windows you have to press Control + F.
- On a Mac you have to press ⌘ Command + F.
Step 4. Enter one or more words to search
In the search box you can type a keyword, a number, a symbol or multiple words. All relevant cells will be selected in the spreadsheet.
Step 5. Press the icons

These buttons are located next to the search box in the upper right corner and allow you to switch between cells.

Step 6. Click on the three dots icon next to the search box
This will open the advanced search options in a new pop-up window.
Step 7. Click the Find button
This way the keywords will be searched in the spreadsheet. Each time you press the "Find" key, you will be able to move to the next cell that contains the word or words you are looking for.
