Facebook users can post numerous items, whether it is updating their status or through chat. Using symbols is a fun way to communicate with your friends, but also to post creative status updates. Read on to find out how.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Using Non-Animated Symbols
Non-animated symbols can be easily integrated into a state or message. Some are black, some are colored.
Step 1. Look for a symbol you want to include in your status or message
You can find several on the web. In fact, there are many sites with lists of symbols that you can copy and paste on Facebook.
Here is an example:
Step 2. Copy the symbol you have chosen
See all the symbols available to find one you like. Highlight it with the mouse, right click, then click on "Copy".
Step 3. Open your Facebook profile
Right-click on the chat field or on the field that allows you to update the status, which is located at the top of the News Feed, which is the home page of the site.
Step 4. Copy the symbol
With the right mouse button, click on the chat or status field and select "Paste" from the menu. The symbol should appear in the box. Now, all you have to do is write a status or message and click "Publish" or "Send".
Method 2 of 3: Using Facebook Emoticons or Emoji
Facebook emoticons belong exclusively to this site. In the text field (whether it's a status or a chat), you can write a combination of characters. When you click on "Publish" or "Send", the emoticon will appear in the sent message. These are colored icons that you only find on Facebook. Emojis and emoticons are the same, while for non-standard emojis the code must be copied and pasted into the text field.
Step 1. Look for a website that offers emoji or emoticon codes, such as:
www.symbols-n-emoticons.com/p/facebook-emoticons-list.html. There you will find a list of symbols that you can use on Facebook.
Step 2. Find one you like and write down the code below
Facebook's standardized emoticons contain symbols that you can type on the keyboard, while non-standardized emojis usually have a box underneath with a code that you can copy to the clipboard. This code corresponds to the emoji only, and although it looks the same for all of them, the selected symbol will appear in the state or message you send
Step 3. Copy the symbols below the selected emoticon or emoji
Highlight them with the mouse, right click and select "Copy".
Step 4. Paste the emoticon or emoji into a text field on Facebook
When you click "Send" or "Publish", the selected symbol will appear in the status or message.
Method 3 of 3: Using Stickers
Stickers are images that belong exclusively to Facebook, usually animated. They portray cute characters and help express their mood through their actions or facial expressions. They can only be used in chat.
Step 1. Open a window to chat
The chat is located at the bottom right. If it's disabled, turn it on. You will see a list of active friends.
Step 2. Click on a friend's name to open a chat with him
Step 3. Click on the "Choose a sticker" icon at the bottom right
You will find various sticker options there.
Step 4. Choose the sticker set installed by default, which is called Pusheen and features a cute cat
You can also download new sticker sets by clicking on the shopping basket at the top right.
Step 5. Select the sticker you want to send
It will automatically be sent to the friend you are chatting with and will animate itself.
