This article explains how to force sending a text message in the form of iMessage on iOS devices. It should be noted that iMessages can only be sent and received by iPhone and iPad users.
Steps
Step 1. Make sure both the sender's device and the recipient's device are connected to the internet
IMessages are text messages that are transferred via the internet network, so both devices of the users involved in the conversation must be connected to the web via Wi-Fi connection or cellular data connection.
- Android device users cannot send and receive iMessages.
- Text messages that appear in green within the app have been sent as SMS / MMS, while those that appear in blue have been sent as iMessages.
Step 2. Launch the iPhone Settings app by tapping the icon
It is normally placed inside the Home of the device.
Step 3. Select the Messages item
It is characterized by a green icon with a white balloon inside.
Step 4. Activate the "iMessage" slider by moving it to the right
If it is green, it means that it is already active and therefore you do not need to perform this step.
Step 5. Disable the "Send as SMS" slider by moving it to the left
Remember that when this feature is turned off you will not be able to text a user who is using an Android device or anyone who is not using an iOS device.
Step 6. Scroll down the menu to locate and select the Send & Receive item
Your contact information will be displayed.
Step 7. Select an email address or mobile number
This information will be displayed within the "You can receive iMessages on" section. If you don't see a check mark to the left of any of the items listed, select the one you want to use as the sender of your text messages.
Step 8. Press the Home button of the device to return to the homonymous screen
Step 9. Launch the Messages app
It features a green icon with a white balloon inside. It is normally located within one of the pages that make up the Home of the device.
Step 10. Send a text message
Any message you send with the app will be transferred in the form of an iMessage and not an SMS or MMS.
- If the message is not sent, try restarting your device.
-
