Roses are often considered romantic and seen as a symbol of love. They are truly beautiful and breathtaking. Even if you don't have a green thumb, you can recreate a rose on a sheet of paper.
Steps
Step 1. Draw a slight vertical line as a guide for the stem
It should be pretty straight, but don't use the ruler, do it freehand.
Step 2. Draw the spines
- Place the pencil almost at the lowest point of the line, a little to the left.
- Draw an up line that is slightly curved outward.
-
Draw a sharp curve going down and towards the stem; you have completed a plug.
Step 3. Continue drawing the spines on both sides of the stem, helping you with the figure
Step 4. Draw a horizontal line with two curved lines (one above, one below) to make a leaf
Step 5. Now, from the end of the leaf, draw a single line that curves and reaches the stem
This is the hairline. You can make a couple of leaves; usually three are fine, as long as they are alternating on the sides of the stem and have slightly different inclinations.
Step 6. Draw a line in the center of each leaf, then draw smaller lines from this to the edge of the leaf
Step 7. Draw banana-shaped leaves at the top of the stem (curving downward like a pipe)
Draw many in various positions and of various sizes, but all start from the top of the stem.
Step 8. Draw two large teardrop shapes on the base of leaflets you just created in the previous step
There should be some space between the two.
Step 9. Draw more teardrop shapes behind the two initials
Remember not to trace the hidden parts.
Step 10. Draw the central “bud” of the flower, with the top slightly open
Step 11. Shade one end of each petal
Try to keep in mind where the light is coming from.
Step 12. Color the rose if desired
Step 13. Finished
Advice
- Give this rose designed to your love for Valentine's Day, or whenever you want!
- Lightly blend the shaded areas and darker lines to give a rustic touch to the design.
- Try to imagine the result before you start drawing, rather than improvising.
- Crumple the paper and tear off the edges to give the rose an antique look.
