There are two types of grace: social grace, which means knowing good manners, and physical grace, which means being comfortable with your body and its movements. This article describes physical grace.
Steps
Step 1. Get to know your body and feel comfortable
Try looking in the mirror and appreciating how wonderful your body is. Your body is a masterpiece and can do amazing things if you learn how to use it well.
- Physical fitness helps to be graceful. If you're not exercising, it's time to start. You don't have to run marathons or lift incredible weights. You just have to exercise a little at a time and consistently, every day, or at least a couple of times a week. Yoga can help a lot!
- Stretch every day. Yes, every day. Even on days when you don't exercise. There are many websites and books that explain how to stretch. Learn the basics and do it carefully. Graceful people manage to make a wide range of movements; if you don't stretch regularly, you will never be able to do them.
Step 2. Try to sleep for as long as you need
If necessary, go to bed earlier. If you are nearly comatose during your day, you will not be able to be graceful.
Step 3. Correct your posture
Graceful people stand straight and sit straight. Don't be clumsy while sitting at your desk (adjust the height of the chair if necessary). It is best to consult a chiropractor if you can afford it. If you work for a large company, you probably have an expert on hand to make sure your workplace is "ergonomically" compliant.
Step 4. Breathe deeply
This serves not only to feel and look better, but also to improve mental functions.
Step 5. Take dance lessons - more than one is better, but not at the same time
Ballet is traditionally the quintessence of graceful movement, and it's not as stupid as it sounds.
Don't just dance in class. Dance on your own too. It is not necessary to be at a party, in fact, it may help to practice alone. Put on some music, move the furniture if you need to, and dance in your room
Step 6. If you really think ballet isn't for you, or you've already tried it and didn't like it, try a different kind of dance
Any type of dance engages the movement of the body and teaches rhythm and coordination, which will help you be more graceful.
Step 7. Take acting lessons
Graceful people are composed and confident, both verbally and not. Learn some gestures and movements and use them.
Step 8. Speak with your head held high, slowly, but not too much, and in a clear voice
Talk to whoever stands in front of you, not your shoes. Don't stretch words at the end of a sentence, it will make you seem mentally retarded and / or immature.
Step 9. When you walk, do it with knowledge
Head held high, gaze straight, quick and natural gait.
Step 10. When you sit down, do not sink into the chair
Pull the chair towards you and sit down carefully. Think of sitting royally on a throne. Don't be clumsy. You can lean back without looking limp, but it can take some practice.
Step 11. Enjoy
Graceful people are "comfortable in their own shoes". They know they are beautiful.
Step 12. Graceful people are calm and never fidget or raise their voices
They also speak with knowledge. Try not to say random things and not be loud if it is not necessary.
Step 13. Looking graceful is also important
Bizarre dresses aren't ideal. Sweaters in bright colors are fine, but don't wear something too flashy. Loose pants are also not good. Not only do they give the impression that you are shuffling, but you may also trip due to excessive length! Flowing clothes are fine, if they are not too abundant!
Don't wear clothes that restrict your movements in an awkward way. High heels may look graceful, for example, but they shouldn't be worn for long. Loose, abundant pants give a weird gait that isn't very graceful. Always wear clothes that make you feel confident and attractive, and style your hair in the same style
Step 14. Put on makeup
A little concealer and mascara can help. Keep your makeup balanced. You can wear very noticeable eyeliner, but leave your lips without make-up, or apply make-up but leaving your eyes to a minimum. Apply concealer and a good foundation (to match your skin color!). Shaved. Waxing is your best bet, even if razor is neither expensive nor painful.
Step 15. It is the inner part that matters
Remember that everyone goes through bad times. But composure comes from smiling during the storm and being stable. No matter who you are, you already have everything you need to have great composure inside you!
Step 16. Always use correct grammar
It makes you sound eloquent and intelligent.
Advice
- Always wear clean clothes. You don't need designer clothes; try to have some style and presentable clothes and hair.
- The trick to looking graceful is to move with ease. You should appear as if each movement is intentional and conscious, but not too slow or too hasty. This will take some practice.
- Whenever you go down stairs or steps, make it seem as if you are going upwards. Keep your shoulders open and your head and gaze upward. If you stumble, give a little smile and walk out casually; people will be surprised by your behavior and will not laugh.
- Shower every day or every other day, and use perfume. A good wake is achieved with a light perfume or body spray.
- Forget that your body "should" be bigger, smaller, a different color or any other flaw. It is what it is, and in truth that's okay. The bodies you see in magazines are usually not real.
- Being graceful doesn't mean being rude or conceited.
- Repeat phrases to yourself or focus on a few words. Think: "I'm casual, sweet and graceful". "I go through a room without problems". Feel free to dance a little or make gestures as you say these phrases.
- Pay attention to what you eat. It's not about losing weight (grace has nothing to do with weight, it all depends on how you carry it). Eat vegetables and avoid anything that is rich in starch (bread, potatoes). Drink plenty of water and take it easy on stimulants (caffeine and nicotine).
- It is important how others see you: the more you understand this point, the more progress you will make.
- If you are a little overweight, however, wear clothes that fit you well, but not too tight. This will make you more presentable.
- You can sway or float slightly, but don't wiggle too much.
- Always be aware of where each part of your body is and what it is doing. You own this tool and you control it, it doesn't control you.
- Being physically graceful also means not being too unpleasant to the eye: if you have a lot of acne, use a suitable cream. Acne gives the impression that you are dirty or that you are not washing your face.
- If you know the Twilight saga, think of Alice Cullen. It has very graceful movements.
