Conversion from any kind of religion to Christianity is quite difficult, although we also know, as Christians, that everything is possible through Jesus Christ. The main factor that we must try to realize is not to be discouraged if our desire does not come true. We must first put our trust in the Lord and allow him to direct our steps.
Steps
Step 1. Define a clear reason why you want to convert this person
Why do you want to convert it to Christianity? Do you want to prove something to others? Do you feel compelled to do it? Did God place this desire in your heart? Or do you just really love this person, want to take care of them, and want them to go to heaven with you?
Step 2. Have a clear understanding of Christianity
Are you a devout Christian? Do you put God first in your life? Are you a good example of what a Christian should be like? Make sure you have a close relationship with God. Go to church every Sunday, read the Bible, take some quiet moments…
Step 3. Pray
Prayer is the main aspect. If you want to convert your Muslim friend to Christianity, you must first speak to God! Tell him how you feel, truly open your heart to him, so that he can see your devotion and help you achieve this victory. Remember to pray every day.
Step 4. Also try to understand your friend's religion
This knowledge can come in handy especially when you start arguing.
Step 5. Invite him to church
If your friend does not want to go to church, then introduce him to some of your Christian friends so that he can feel the warmth and love you share towards one another.
Step 6. Be nice to others
Being a good example is also an important way to attract your friend. Be kind, not only to him, but to everyone! Always show a smile on your face and always be happy, because God always wants our light to shine. Our actions can create a great impact on others, remember that talking is cheap, actions that are worth much more.
Step 7. Be his best friend
Be there whenever you can. If he is experiencing a bad situation, don't just stand by and comfort him, but do something to help him! This way you can show him when you are extraordinary.
Step 8. Don't be discouraged
Your friend may not want to become a Christian, but if you always keep in mind that God is on your side, and that everything is possible, you must never give up on your dream… keep hoping.
Advice
- Have faith in God.
- Pray for your friend every day.
- Remember, even if he does not become a Christian when you try to convert him, your testimony will still have a permanent impact on his life and perhaps he will accept Christ later.
- Show him kindness and love.
- Learn about the Muslim faith and try to understand it.
- Be a devout Christian.
- Be a good example.
- Talk about salvation.
- Share your testimony (tell how you came to know Christ and what God has done in your life) or find a friend who can share his experience.
Warnings
- Don't force it. Coercion never worked.
- Do not be discouraged, Jesus said to his disciples in Luke 10:16, "Whoever listens to you listens to me, whoever rejects you rejects me. And whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me."
- Don't talk about death and destruction and things to come.
- Do not criticize or argue about his Muslim faith.
- Attempting to convert may be illegal in some Muslim countries.
