The zebrafish, or zebrafish (brachydanio rerio), have a very simple reproduction process. In this article, you will learn some basic steps that should help you to encourage breeding of Danio without problems.
Steps
Step 1. Raise Danio for a couple of weeks
Feed them the best food: white worms (grindal type), shrimp (artemia type) and other types of worms (tubifex type) will be perfect.
Step 2. Get another tank with a volume between 20 and 38 liters
Step 3. Prepare the tub
Pour some aged water (about 8 - 10 cm), add some aquatic plants and some marbles or rocks at the bottom. Keep the water well ventilated and clean.
Step 4. Add the well-fed danios
If your danio are adults and adequately fed, it should be easy to recognize their sex: this will allow you to put even a single couple inside the tank.

Males are, in most cases, lean, more active and have a much more intense coloration. The females ready to lay eggs, on the other hand, are mainly larger in the abdominal area, where they have a color tending to white or pink.
Step 5. Pay attention to the spawning activity
Once the eggs (200 - 300) are laid, they will fall between the marbles you placed on the bottom of the tank. Danes have a tendency to eat their own fry, so marbles are very important.
Step 6. After a few hours, remove the fish
Step 7. The eggs should hatch within a couple of days
Check the tank carefully for fry.
If you don't see any fry after that time, breeding was unsuccessful. To try again, it is advisable to give the fish some time to rest, and feed them again
Step 8. Do not feed the fry until they are swimming freely
When they begin to swim freely, feed them frequently with small portions of finely chopped flakes, paramecium, infusoria, or special food for fry.
