The Veet brand specializes in body hair removal products, such as creams and waxes. Veet hair removal cream contains an active ingredient that works by dissolving the hair shaft. Instead, the waxing kit includes comfortable strips that are heated and applied to the skin to pull out the hair at the root. Both products have benefits, but they also come with risks. This article explains how to use them safely.

Method 1 of 2: Use Veet Hair Removal Cream
Step 1. Apply a thin layer of cream to a small part of the area to be treated
Allow 24 hours to pass to make sure no unwanted skin reactions occur.
- Consult your doctor before using the cream if you have any skin conditions or if you are taking any medications that can affect the skin.
- If your skin is not irritated within 24 hours, you can use the cream freely.
- Do not use the cream if you notice that it is not of a uniform color or if the tube is damaged.
- Hair removal cream can damage or discolor metals and fabrics, so protect surrounding surfaces and clothing. In case of accidental contact, immediately clean the surface with water.
- Keep the hair removal cream out of the reach of children. In case of accidental ingestion, consult a doctor immediately and show him the outer packaging where the composition of the product is indicated.
Step 2. Squeeze a dab of cream into the palm of your hand
Use the smallest amount you need to cover the area of skin you intend to shave.
Be careful to avoid contact with the eyes. In case of accidental contact, rinse your eyes with plenty of water and contact a doctor immediately
Step 3. Spread the dab of cream on the area to be depilated
Use the spatula included in the package to spread a uniform layer of cream that completely covers the hair.
- Apply the cream to the surface of the skin, without rubbing, to prevent it from penetrating the pores.
- Veet hair removal cream is suitable for depilating legs, arms, armpits and bikini line. Do not use it on the face, scalp, breasts or perianal and genital area as it may cause severe irritation and burning. If you have applied hair removal cream to any of these areas and your skin has become irritated, rinse the area with plenty of water and see a doctor.
- Do not apply the cream on moles, scars, spots, sunburn and in general where the skin is irritated. Also, let at least 72 hours pass after using the razor or other hair removal product.
- Do not apply the cream to injured or inflamed skin. If the cream comes into contact with a wound, immediately rinse the area with warm water and a skin disinfectant solution with 3% boric acid. See your doctor if rinsing isn't enough to relieve pain.
- Do not use the depilatory cream immediately after taking a bath or shower. The alkali and thioglycolate contained in the product can irritate the skin made sensitive by heat.
Step 4. Let the cream sit for 3 minutes
Precisely time the shutter speed to make sure you don't exceed the three-minute limit, otherwise your skin could become severely irritated.

Step 5. Remove the cream using the spatula included in the kit
First use the tip of the spatula to uncover a small area of skin. If the hair comes off easily, remove the rest of the cream as well.
- If the spatula seems to be too abrasive, remove the depilatory cream with a sponge or soft cloth.
- If necessary, leave the cream on for a little longer. Never exceed 6 minutes, otherwise unwanted symptoms such as irritation and burning may occur.
Step 6. Rinse the part with plenty of warm water
Wash away the cream and residual hair.
The most effective way to rinse the skin is to gently massage it with a soft sponge inside the shower
Step 7. Pat your skin dry with a soft towel
Treat her gently because the hair removal cream may have made her very sensitive.
- Let it pass at least 72 hours between applications to reduce the negative effect of the cream on the skin.
- Do not apply deodorant or perfume to freshly shaved skin and wait at least 24 hours before exposing it to the sun. The depilatory cream will have made her particularly sensitive to sunlight and the chemicals contained in the aforementioned products.
Method 2 of 2: Using Veet Hair Removal Strips
Step 1. Apply a small amount of wax to the area to be depilated with one of the post hair removal wipes included in the kit
Watch your skin for 24 hours to make sure there are no unwanted reactions.
- If your skin does not get irritated within the next 24 hours, the hair removal strips will most likely not do you any harm.
- If this is your first time waxing, it's best to start by shaving your legs. At that point the skin is less sensitive; when you have had some experience, you can use the depilatory strips in areas where the skin is more delicate, for example in the armpits and in the bikini area.
- It is not recommended to use the depilatory strips in parts that have already been depilated with wax.
- If you are taking any medications that affect the skin, ask your doctor for approval before using hair removal strips.
- Do not use hair removal strips if you are an elderly or diabetic person. They can lead to serious health consequences.
- Hair removal strips can also be used during pregnancy, but be careful as they can easily cause bruising.
Step 2. Clean the area of skin you intend to shave
Take a shower or use a damp cloth to get rid of any impurities on your skin.
Dry clean skin well. If it remains wet, the wax will not be able to adhere well
Step 3. Rub a strip between your palms for 5 seconds
The aim is to heat the wax to make it stick to the hair.
Traditional waxing requires you to heat the wax in the microwave or in a double boiler. Veet hair removal strips also need to be heated slightly, but the process is much less complicated
Step 4. Remove the film that protects the wax
Each depilatory strip can be reused several times, until it is no longer adhesive.
Step 5. Attach the strip to the skin and rub it repeatedly
Rub it in the direction the hair grows.
- If you are waxing your legs, attach the strip vertically and rub it towards your ankle.
- Use the same precautions you take when using hair removal cream. Do not use the strips on the face, scalp or genital area. It also avoids moles, scars, varicose veins and in general any point where the skin is irritated.
- If your skin becomes irritated after applying the depilatory strip, remove it using one of the post-depilation wipes supplied with the kit. Alternatively, you can use a cotton ball dipped in body oil. Since the wax is resin based it does not come off with water.
- For the strips to be effective, it is important that the hairs are at least 2-5 mm long. If they are shorter than 2mm, they may not adhere well to the wax, so you won't be able to tear them off.
Step 6. Quickly peel the strip off the skin
The faster you detach it, the better your chances of being able to remove most of the hair.
- Tear off the strip in the opposite direction to that of hair growth. In this way the chances of being able to pull out the hair are increased.
- Hold the skin taut with one hand and try to keep the strip parallel to the skin as you tear. You will increase the effectiveness of waxing while limiting the pain.
- Do not pull the strip upwards, otherwise the hairs will break rather than tear at the root.
Step 7. Use the post hair removal wipes to remove the wax residue from the skin
You can take a shower if you feel the need.
