Giving your partner a hickey in the middle of a passionate moment is ideal for leaving a “brand of belonging”. Not to mention that receiving it is extremely pleasant, if done well. Here's how to impress this sign of love properly.
Steps
Part 1 of 3: What is a Pacifier
Step 1. What is a soother?
Also known as a "love bite," it is essentially a bruise caused by sucking or a very aggressive kiss. At first it is red in color, due to the breaking of the capillaries, but over time it turns purple or black as it heals.
Step 2. Why make a hickey?
It is a sign of passion; it is usually done in a moment of passion as an expression of desire. Making a hickey is like claiming "possession" of a person.
Step 3. Always ask for permission first
Given the clear sexual connotation of a hickey, it may be inappropriate to have it in plain sight when at school, at work, or when visiting grandparents. Some people may not want to deal with the embarrassment of a hickey on the neck, nor the problem of having to hide it, so you should never do this to your partner without first knowing what they think about it.
Also, receiving it can be painful at times, and in some people it can turn off the passion. So you have been warned
Part 2 of 3: Making a Pacifier
Step 1. Get there gradually
Don't throw yourself directly on your partner's neck to make the hickey. Spend time on kissing, with and without a tongue. Then move slightly towards the neck. Start with light kisses, then increase the intensity until you have more insistent kisses around the neck area. If you see that your partner responds positively, you have probably obtained tacit consent to proceed further.
You should ask permission, even if the word "hickey" isn't exactly pleasant to hear. If you really think it's okay to ask, try expressing the desire to leave a mark on your other half's neck and see how they react
Step 2. Choose the point
Pacifiers are usually done on areas where the skin is sensitive and delicate, so the neck is the most popular spot. However, the crease on the inside of the elbow and the inner thighs are also good areas.
- If you know your partner might be very embarrassed by a hickey in a visible spot, don't give it to him right in the middle of his throat where everyone can see it.
- The nape of the neck is an ideal area for people with long hair, but you can also try on the collarbones or near the shoulders, where it can be hidden with a regular t-shirt.
Step 3. Open your lips slightly and place them on your partner's skin
Imagine drawing an "O" with your mouth and pressing it against her skin so that it fits snugly, leaving no space. Try to keep your lips soft and inviting.
Step 4. Suck the skin
You need to do this with enough energy to break the superficial capillaries, but not too much to cause pain. You should suck for 20-30 seconds to be able to make your mark. Remember:
- No teeth - you don't have to bite your partner.
- Take breaks. If 30 continuous seconds of sucking seems a little strange to you, do it for 10 seconds, then kiss and then suck again for another 10 and so on.
- Check the amount of saliva in your mouth. You certainly don't want to leave a slobbery trail on your neck.
Step 5. Choose a sweet ending
When you're done sucking, continue with a few gentle kisses on the area that has been made more sensitive.
Step 6. Wait a few minutes before you can see the result
Just like a bruise, the hickey does not appear immediately. It should appear after 5-10 minutes, ranging in tone from a light pink to an accentuated purple.
Step 7. Make it darker (optional)
If you want a darker or larger hickey, go back to working on the area.
Step 8. Stop, if asked
Maybe your partner liked the idea of a hickey, but doesn't like the feeling you get while you do it. Or he decides not to risk his parents or office manager seeing him. Always respect your partner's wishes even if he says "no" after you have already started. Sometimes the hickey is considered a sign of trust, so abusing trust is not a good thing.
Part 3 of 3: Hide a Soother
Step 1. Use the concealer
A little bit of this make-up can be effective in covering up a hickey. Just make sure you choose one of the same shade as your skin, otherwise, instead of hiding it, you will make it even more visible.
The greasepaint is very thick and heavy, so use it as a last resort, in case you're trying to hide a huge one
Step 2. Wear a scarf
On these occasions she is your best friend, as it is a fashion accessory that does not raise any suspicions when you put it on (unless it is 40 ° C). Wrap it strategically around your neck and check yourself in the mirror to make sure it doesn't move and that the soother is well hidden.
You can also wear a turtleneck (provided the weather conditions allow it). Or leave your hair down if it's long enough
Step 3. Cover it with a band-aid
It is actually a great way to hide it and make it heal. However, a patch on my neck is somewhat suspicious, so come up with a plausible excuse like "I burned myself with the hair straightener" or "I have a pimple popped".
Step 4. Try to speed up the healing process
Arnica is very effective, although there are countless techniques that seem to work, such as applying ice, scrubbing the hickey with a comb, a coin, or covering it with toothpaste.

Advice
- Always be kind and do everything you can to avoid causing pain.
- While you are sucking, use your tongue. Since the affected part will automatically be more sensitive, using the tongue will add an extra erotic touch.
- Make sure you can hide the pacifier, as your parents may not be very happy that you have one. It would be better to have pacifiers made in winter, when you can use scarves and jackets to hide them, or sweaters.
- Try leaving pacifiers in other areas of the body where the capillaries are close to the skin, such as wrists, chest or abdomen.
- Don't bite too hard. If you decide to use your teeth, nibble lightly.
- You can also bite a little if you see fit. Just a little, not too much. Also in this case try to understand if the bites are welcome; otherwise stop immediately. If they are liked, they could make it much sexier.
- To hide the soothers on the neck you can use scarves, high collars and jackets with lapels. A pacifier on the arm, on the other hand, can be concealed with long sleeves. A good foundation and a little powder help.
- Make sure you get your partner's permission before giving him a hickey, as he could get awkward if he didn't want to.
- Try licking the part of the skin chosen for the hickey.
- To make a hickey disappear as soon as possible, place a wet spoon in the freezer. Once frozen, take it out and wait a few minutes until it stays cold. Press it against the hickey to stop the swelling. Then use a soft toothbrush and lightly pass it on the affected area with movements that go from the outside to the inside to reactivate the circulation and heal the capillaries.
Warnings
- Don't give pacifiers if your partner has hemophilia. The same goes for anemics, who will carry much larger and more visible signs.
- Getting a hickey can hurt. If they want to do it, but you don't like it, don't mind saying no.
