Most of the mattresses found in our homes need to be rotated or turned over periodically, to ensure maximum durability and efficiency. The procedure described in this tutorial, if performed regularly, will allow you to postpone the purchase of a new mattress over time.
Steps
Step 1. Rotate your mattress regularly
There are several activities that must be performed regularly, the transition to summer time, replace the batteries of the smoke detector and obviously the rotation of the mattress. In spring it rotates horizontally, while in autumn it turns upside down.
Step 2. Plan to rotate it during the change of sheets closest to the switch to winter / summer time
Step 3. In spring, rotate the mattress so that the end you rested your head on now supports your feet and vice versa
Step 4. In the fall, turn the mattress over so that the top becomes the bottom and vice versa
Advice
- Turn your mattress over at least once a month.
- If you prefer, you can start by turning your mattress horizontally once a month.
Warnings
- When you turn the mattress over, pay attention to the objects around you, including bedside tables, lamps, chandeliers or radiators.
- Not all mattresses require turning or flipping. Look at the label carefully.
- Some mattresses are labeled 'Upper Side' (or a similar wording) indicating that they cannot be turned over, but can only be turned.
- The movement required to overturn a mattress can cause pain and injuries to the lumbar muscles of the back. Do not make sudden movements and always proceed with the utmost caution. Doing the maneuver correctly shouldn't have any repercussions.
