Here are a number of techniques to scare people. Consult the Tips and Warnings, they are important. Go ahead, try!
Steps
Step 1. Try the wardrobe trick
Find a closet (possibly a heavily used one) and pop out when someone opens it. Hold something in your hand, like a can, or wear thick coats.
Step 2. Try the behind-the-door technique
(Note: this only works for doors that open from the inside) Hide behind someone's door, and when they close, jump out and shout something.
Step 3. Use the angle method
Hide in a corner and when the victim is about to turn, jump out and yell something.
Step 4. Try in the bushes
Crouch behind bushes and jump out when someone passes by.
Step 5. Try the garbage can
It is a passage for the bravest. (Note: Make sure the bucket is big enough for you to get out easily, and that there is no garbage inside!) Hide in a garbage pail with a lid, and when someone passes, pops out or starts shouting HELP I have been eaten from last night's leftovers!”.
Step 6. Use the under-stairs technique
Go under the stairs and make some creepy sounds.
Step 7. Hide under your brother or sister's bed at night and whisper the name of your next victim
Step 8. Try the under-the-desk method
When your sister or brother is at the computer and the desk is large enough, hide underneath and grab his leg as he sits down.
Step 9. When someone is very concentrated (perhaps doing homework or something else), sneak up on them and brush them with your fingers as if you were a spider
You can also make some creepy sounds.
Advice
- Make sure you are not seen while hiding.
- Be VERY quiet before you scare someone.
- Stay in the dark and avoid making noise (for example with wooden floors, stairs, laughter, heavy breathing …).
- It is best to perform these steps at night. Also, try to blend in.
- Wear a scary costume.
- Wear comfortable, quiet shoes.
- Avoid shoes with bright colors or those that light up when you hide.
- Wear a mask (the scarier, the better).
Warnings
- Remember, don't try anyone under the age of 7 or over 60. You can traumatize a child and cause him or her nightmares, and an older person could have a heart attack.
- Watch out for the shadows; the light under the doors can cast a very visible shadow. Try to stay in total darkness.
